Everything about our experience was terrible. First, we had made reservations through open table, indicating that it was our wedding anniversary. When we arrived, well dressed and on time, the hostess knew that it was our anniversary and wished us a good one, when we asked whether there was an outside patio table she went out and came back and showed us to our table. It was an absolutely terrible table with one chair next to a wall covered in spiderwebs and the other chair facing the wall with no view at all. To make matters worse, there were unruly, loud obnoxious children next to our table with one parent. In our view, hostess should have used more judgement in seating us to a more appropriate table. It should also be said that there were many other tables available, including tables for two. In front of the hostess, my wife and I talked about who would be sitting in the bad chair without a view, but she did not react in anyway. We regret terribly not asking for a better table when there were many others, including tables for two that remained vacant during our entire stay. We ordered from the table d’hôte the Caesar salad as an appetizer and the slow cooked roast prime rib beef. Caesar salad was excellent and we have no complaints there. Waiter was slow in bringing our focaccia bread that we had ordered. As for the main course: The beef was not edible. It was full of grizzle and fat. It was flavorless, and it was difficult to cut through it with a steak knife. Either that beef was from a very poor cut or it’s simply was not cooked long enough, contrary to what was advertised. Tried to eat a few bites, but it was next to impossible. Absolutely the worst cut of beef that I’ve ever had in a restaurant. $335 later, with tip, we were frustrated and completely displeased with the experience. On our way out, we walked to the railing to take in the view that we never did get to see in the first place. We will not go back there and we do not recommend it. We went there because of the view, thinking that it was equal to some of our was finer dining establishments in Ottawa. Unfortunately, we had no view and an...
Read moreMy partner and I arrived on time for our reservation just to be asked to wait while the three hostesses debated where to sit another couple. While they were clearly not interested in welcoming us, we looked at their selection of fine wines, which is pretty much all we can look at. We were finally addressed once the other two hostesses were done talking to each other. We were seated near a bar, with a hotel room phone that rang for room service which I found very interesting for an upscale restaurant regardless of it being in a hotel. The decor is bland, nothing out of the ordinary. Their appetizers are insanely expensive for what they are, 34$ for two shrimp and 2 scallops to me is a bit overdoing it, the other attending patrons were a mix of all classes, there was a mix of upscale service mixed with low end service, we even heard the waiter complaining about his lack of rotation with his tables, we get it, we all work for money but you would think they would have more class considering they refer to themselves as an upscale restaurant. Our waitress Melanie was a sweetheart al albeit not her fault she told us we need to be out of there at a certain time to make sure the next reservation can be seated, which was a little insulting but not her fault, my partner and I chose a sharing prime rib plate, it was decent but nothing to rave about, they told us it would take one hour to cook even with our limited seating time, but we went with it anyways, meat was a little overcooked and definitely under seasoned, crab legs were good, veggies were excellent, baked potatoes were tired bland and overall very boring. Desserts and our waitress are the I my two things that saved our evening… and the dessert table! Locally made mini desserts is the must try of the evening. Overall, this restaurant is overpriced, over hyped and I would not recommend it to anyone who wants a good meat, there are plenty of...
Read moreWent there for my wedding anniversary. The wife and I. We went for breakfast the next morning to this restaurant Arome we found it to be really good. We're very happy with the food. The breakfast used to have eggs benedict and now they don't have them anymore. That's a little bit why I put four stars, food is good. It's just there's the less so I thought I would rate it appropriately. Luckily though we had the amazing service from a gentleman called Axel, he was really an amazing waiter and made us feel very comfortable and was very available and thanks to him we managed to have a good breakfast even though there were no eggs Benedict included in the buffet. So thanks to Axel we will be back. So if you want my opinion I would suggest to go there and go try out this restaurant where we've been there for supper and breakfast and in both occasions the food iwas very good. So I only gave it a four star because there was no eggs Benedict in the buffet and also something else was not included. I forget what but a couple of items were you had to order separately and pay if you wanted them. They were no longer in the buffet so but the food in the buffet is still very very good and there's a very very good variety. Go try it out. Go see this restaurant go eat there and if you're lucky enough to be in Axel's section then you will benefit the same great service that we were lucky to experience so that's it. Go try this place out. It's inside the Hilton Lac Leamy in Gatineau Qiébec Don't wait, go try it. Go eat supper. Go eat breakfast. Go Sunday morning after breakfast. Open early at 6:00 a.m. I believe it's really good. All...
