Terrible service and no need to say more 😞 And they just don’t care. Our dining experience at Lunitas was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The overall experience left a sour taste in our mouths, as the service and treatment we received were far below par. This experience completely ruined our trip to the Island.
Right from the beginning, we received the unwelcoming attitude of the hostess. She informed us that we only had an hour to sit down, which we agreed to due to being hungry. Little did we know that this would set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Our server, a tall blonde woman, was impatient and unkind right from the start. As soon as we placed our order, we noticed that the wait time was significantly longer than expected. We patiently waited for over 45 minutes (to get our appetizers… chips and guac) while two other tables, who arrived after us, received their food promptly. It was disheartening to witness this blatant disregard for basic fairness.
When we approached our server to raise our concerns, she displayed an astonishing lack of empathy. Instead of addressing our frustrations, she dismissed our complaints with a nonchalant "we are busy" remark. Her response was both unprofessional and disrespectful, showing a complete lack of concern for our experience as customers. It was apparent that she had no interest in rectifying the situation or providing any sort of compensation for the inconvenience we endured.
To make matters worse, throughout our lengthy wait, the server didn't offer us any alternatives or attempt to make the situation more bearable. Instead, she chose to roll her eyes at us multiple times, which only intensified our frustration and disappointment. This kind of behavior is inexcusable and reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.
The lack of attentiveness, professionalism, and customer service exhibited by the server at Lunitas Restaurant severely tarnished what should have been a pleasant dining experience.
The disregard for our time and the dismissive attitude towards our concerns left us feeling disrespected and undervalued.
As a result, we cannot in good conscience recommend Lunitas Restaurant to anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. The poor service, unkind behavior, and indifference towards customer satisfaction were disheartening and inexcusable. We ended up canceling our entire order, paid for the drinks and appetizers that arrived 50 minutes late...
Read moreI spoke to a coworker 2 weeks ago, about my love for Mexican food. I also informed her that I lived in Texas for 6 years. She told me whenever I get a chance to visit the Sunshine Coast, I should check out this wonderful Mexican Restaurant call Lunitas in Gibson. I head to Gibson for the long weekend to do just that, check out Lunitas!
I was greeted by a lovely host upon arrival at the restaurant, she told us she would be with us shortly. We waited for about 20 mins before she came back, she apologized for the wait, she stated " I had to seat a party of twelve" However, she made up for it by providing us a table with a beautiful view. A few minutes later our waitress arrived, my 13 year old and I horrible experience began. My daughter was hunger she order a Canada Dry Ginger Ale, and Tamales, before I could order my drink and the rest of the meal she left. She arrived with my daughter's soda 10 mins later. I decided to order a Sangria before I could order my main meal, she disappeared again, without asking if I needed anything else. She returned with the Tamales sat it down, walked away. I decided that I worked too hard for my money to put up with this kind of attitude, it's obvious she has a problem serving us. I asked another wait staff to inform her that I would like my bill, 5 mins later she returned with the card machine, to my surprise she stated "you didn't get your Sangria" I was in "awe" I proceeded to pay, we left without finishing our Tamales. Furthermore, the Tamales were not moist.
I am a foodie every time we travel, my favorite thing to do is to check out the best restaurants in the area, before I do anything else. I don't consider British Columbia to be a foodie place, in my opinion. It's not along the same line as Ontario, Quebec, New York, California, Vegas, Houston or Dallas. The only thing good about this province is its natural beauty, this is one of the main reason I decided to move back to Ontario. I am a little disappointed because I thought this would be another gem in BC, like Sal y Limon in Vancouver. However,...
Read moreso we ordered the $40 sangria pitcher that was supposed to come with 64 ounces of liquid. We were splitting it between three people so it would equal 21 ounces of liquid per person. This might sound a little bit stingy but we are students and don’t have a lot of money. When the pitcher arrived, it was filled to the brim with ice and had a proximately three small cups of sangria averaging about 8 ounces each without ice. According to our calculations, this is 24 ounces of liquid in what is supposed to be a 64 ounce pitcher. Make it make sense. When we raised this concern with our server, she told us that they do measure the amount of sangria in the pitcher to be 32 ounces of liquid. My one question remains: why is the 64 ounces indicated on the menu? Regardless, they hadn’t even given us the 32 ounces that they supposedly measured for when making the drink. The brought us one measly watered down cup of sangria for three people to share instead of comping, the pitcher, which would’ve been the appropriate thing to do as someone who has worked in the service industry. Nice try Lunitas, that doesn’t cut it. If you think we’re being a little bit ridiculous I just would like you to imagine if you ordered a 64 ounce pitcher of beer and it came filled to the brim with ice. Mind you the reason we are being this stingy is because we are all students with very low incomes. Just trying to celebrate two of our friends anniversary on a budget. Anniversary ruined. Just kidding, the servers were nice but we did laugh about this for the rest of the evening. We weren’t laughing at the servers (we have all worked in hospitality), just the owner. If you want to experience a comedy show go to Lunitas and order the $40...
