Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives — Attraction in Gibsons

What a lovely way to end our trip! I only wish I could go back more often to really take in each item. I was so impressed with how fancy some of the antiques are! You might think that people living so far from a city in such an era would have more rustic homes, but I guess if you have the money in any era you buy what you can to make your life more enjoyable! This was a pretty disappointing museum. The displays were dusty and poorly lit so you couldn't see a lot of detail. Much of it was kind of boring - and I am someone who really likes museums. There were 2 employees there who didn't seem to be doing anything but sitting in a side office and talking, when they could have been cleaning up the displays and making them more appealing. Considering there's not a lot to do in Sechelt area this should be more of a priority...

Despite living on/traveling to the Sunshine Coast on & off for almost 20 years, this was my first time visiting the museum. I brought my daughter, who fell completely in love with the butterflies. For myself, learning about the first settlers of the Coast, as well as the Indigenous communities was fascinating.
