I don't like leaving bad reviews but I was surprised by the portion sizing. We ordered: Vegetable roll combo Crunchy ram roll Avocado salmon roll Spicy Agedashi tofu Miso soup Total $35 All the vegetable combo rolls were maki style and very tiny. Even the more premium salmon / yam rolls were tiny (the size of a maki). The "crunchy" yam roll had no crunch. The miso soup was on the small side as well. The worst was the tofu, at nearly $7 I was surprised to see 4 not so big slices of plain tofu next to a little cup of sauce. The food tasted fine, I've had worse, and better, however, the value of rolls and tofu.. and miso soup seems to be very poor. I was between 2-3* but since they still use a lot of unnecessary plastic containers for takeout I'll lower to 2*.

Where do I even start? Hands down my favorite restaurant and have been coming back for years now even before the new location. Owners and staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is very comforting. Food is delicious and also presented beautifully. Personal favorites are Negitoro roll and Saba nigiri. Sake selection is wide enough for most to find a favorite but too intimidating either. I don't eat out much so when I do I'll make sure I go to somewhere as great as Nagomi!

I'm amazed that there is an authentic Japanese restaurant on the Sunshine Coast! Found this place on Google and we were not disappointed. They had clam chowder croquette which was SO GOOD!! My friend and I also shared salmon sashimi (super soft and buttery), the sunshine roll, tobiko nigiri, spinach gomae, and the tuna tataki salad. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. My friend also ordered the sake flight. For $18 you get to try three different types.

Food and service were good. Requires your credit card number over the phone for reservation which is unnecessary and high risk for personal data beach

Edit to respond:

Its not opinion, it's fact that pen and paper is an extremely inefficient and unsafe way to protect data. Especially when your staff write it down in front of guests which they did while I was there. What's your protocol for data protection and deletion?

2 stars is reasonable, your food was okay but not for the price you charge. It was worth 3 stars at best. Which is average and fair. Combine that with your lack of data protection and high costs, 2 stars is fair. The sushi platters at T&T taste fresher and better.

As a restaraunt your focus is not just food, but your customers as well. Data safety is exceedingly important now a days and you're not taking it seriously enough. Large hotels and airlines have much better data protection systems in place than pen and paper. You can't compare yourselves to them.

Instead of getting defensive maybe do some research in to best practices for data security and...

Based on the previous reviews, we were not disappointed. It's a lovely setting incorporating lots of natural wood from the tables, walls and decorations while remaining airy and light. We were greeted and seated right away - good timing on our part but it is the shoulder season and mid-week. The server was very friendly without hovering or being overly chatty. We ordered our usual vegetarian choices like spinach goma-ae, agedashi tofu, avocado roll , crunch yam roll and cucumber roll along with their veggie Caterpillar roll. At times you can get cheaper sushi when the rolls are mostly rice and the rolls are so loosely rolled they fall apart the moment you pick them up but that's not the case here. They strike a good ration of ingredients to rice and each piece stays together when picked up.. We could have ordered more as the menu had quite a few vegetarian options but we didn't want to overstuff ourselves. What we ordered was just enough. A great menu selection for a la carte or set dinners. Will be back the next time we're on the...

I visited this beautiful little restaurant during a trip to the sunshine coast in early August 2022. Sushi is my go to, I have dined at no less than 50 sushi restaurants in the lower mainland over the past 15 years and can can say without a shadow of a doubt that Sushi Bar Nagomi is the best I have ever had. I don't mean that one particular dish was the best, every single dish was the best version of that dish that I have ever had. It was a bit on the pricier side as far as sushi goes, but as soon as you try the food you won't care. I am genuinely struggling to recall a dining experience where I came away feeling more satisfied than I did at Sushi Bar Nagomi. Restauraunt was clean and inviting, our waitress was wonderful and attentive. If I win the lottery, I'm moving to Gibsons and eating here every day,...
