Revolution Records Hamilton — Attraction in Hamilton

I can't say enough great things about this little record shop. The Revolution Records team have done an outstanding job of creating a perfect welcoming and inclusive record store atmosphere. If you're looking for a "too cool for school" or "pretentious" record store full of attitude, this aint it. Just super friendly staff who love their records and go above and beyond to help out their customers. I've shopped record stores all over North America and Europe and this tiny shop has some of the greatest selection I have ever seen packed into a little shop. From old classics and Movie Soundtracks to the latest releases. Revolution has it all. This store is a world class hidden gem and a must visit destination for any collector.

Looking forward to checking this place out more. I have been twice, and both times there was a child in the store running wild and screaming. The first time it drove me out of the place (the kid kept running into me) and the second time I put up with it for about 25 minutes, then abandoned ship. I don't hate kids, I just don't like them screaming and bumping into me while I look for Dead Milkmen LPs. From what I've seen, it's a lovely little shop, decent mix of old and new. Some great looking vintage records, some shocking price-tags but I guess if you can get it, then go for it! Goodness knows I certainly feel like cherrypicking a few dozen of my punk and post-punk LPs and seeing what they'd give for them, I might be rich and not know it! 3/5 stars overall, always good to have another nice store...

There is something very minor that distinguishes a good record store.

Revolution suceeds in one way many do not…

They sell belts, and needles and cartridge's They went above and beyond today. I walked in their door with a broken turntable and was given the correct belt and stylus. So i left with a working turntable.

Their record selection is pretty good, if you like digging they have the occasional great deal on a used record…

They know their customer base quite well and that explains why they have so many repeat customers.

Personally i wish they stocked more rare import stuff and leaned into more obscure titles but i can understand, i shop all over for records,

what they do right...
