!!!..BEWARE OF EXPIRED ITEMS SOLD BY INDIAN STORE..!!! (Diwali Sale)
Hello, I would like to pen down and write an honest review for the expired items that have been sold by this Indian store. (HAPPENED OVER 3 TIMES NOW)
I bought 2 packets of Nanak Rasmalai which I found to be expired before the date of purchase( date of expiry was 9 Oct,2023 and 31 Oct 2023 respectively). I have not notice until the date and time when I was about to open during my get together party.
Firstly, when I went to the Indian store, I approached to the cashier regarding the refund process and she asked me to go and talk Mr. Yagnesh Patel. He tried to deny the date of expiry by giving some baseless arguments for the three times back to back . Today, I talked to the Owner of the store, he said right away that these items are not belong to our store. Even though, I saw him a receipt that has a store location on it and the items that I have purchased. My date of purchase was November 4,2023.
So, I urge everyone to look for the date of expiry on every products that you purchase. Otherwise, the owner would be more than happy to raise his hands by saying that " THESE PRODUCTS ARE NOT BELONG TO OUR STORE"
Finally, the owner of this location saved $20 by loosing a business of more than $500/month. ( the cost of a couple of rasmalai was $20)
I have attached the pictures of expired items along with the...

While I was looking at them a lady approached me asking if I needed help with anything to which I replied with no, I was ok and just currently browsing. She said ok then went on with her work but kept an eye on me as I continued looking at the photos. Then as I walked from the shelf to have my bf come see something i was interested in I had the same lady calling from across the store to me saying not to worry someone will come to help me. At first I didnt know she was talking to me till I noticed no one else was around me at that moment, so I asked what she said and she repeated it. I didn't need help. I told her not even 2 min prior that I didn't need help but instead I now had all the other customers looking in my direction because she decided to call it out across the store rather than approach me again. I felt embarrassed and awkward and like I was singled out and treated as though I didn't know what I was doing in there. The other customers went about their shopping without the constant need to give them help. I didn't understand why it was necessary to have everyones attention on me. Needless to say I just left the photo and walked out...

It's troubling to witness products well past their expiration dates prominently displayed on shelves, highlighting a significant lapse in food safety protocols.
In light of these persistent violations, it is crucial for both the City of Kitchener and the health department to intervene promptly. A comprehensive investigation is essential to uncover the root causes of this recurring problem and to implement stringent measures to prevent future occurrences.
The involvement of the health department is paramount to ensure public health and safety standards are rigorously upheld. Concurrently, the City of Kitchener should play an active role in overseeing compliance with local regulations governing food retailing practices.
The supermarket's failure to maintain proper inventory control and adherence to expiration guidelines is unacceptable and jeopardizes consumer trust. By addressing these issues proactively and decisively, we can safeguard community health and uphold the integrity of food safety standards...
