Ben Thanh — Restaurant in Kitchener

Ordered through DoorDash for delivery. Did not receive one of my items (a full meal). I first called the driver and he said this was all he was given. (Receipt clearly shows I should have had one more item). When I call the restaurant the girl on the phone was extremely rude, telling me it wasn’t their problem (that they didn’t give the driver all my food?) and I had to go through the app. Asked how exactly to do that when it was them that didn’t fulfill the order. (First time ordering with this app. I legitimately didn’t know and was asking how I needed to do this) I was told they are busy and was hung up on. When calling back another woman answered the phone and the previous girl can be heard in the background screaming about the previous call(insert me being called numerous names and her screaming to the lady I was on the phone with) in which she was extremely unprofessional and no help at all, and the new lady was no help either just claiming they were busy and what were they supposed to do(I don’t know... get the order correct? Offer to rectify the situation instead of just tell me it’s doordash’s problem? Pretty sure they’re just the delivery service and not the ones who didn’t even make the food). Got my full refund thank god and will not ever be going to this restaurant again. Horrible customer service, food we got was sub par at best, and didn’t even receive our full order. Thank god I at least got my money back thanks to DoorDash. Worst experience at a restaurant in years. Staff need training in how to speak to people or they shouldn’t be allowed to be on the phone acting...

We are pure vegetarian. I visited BenThanh with my family and we tried Papaya Salad🥗, Green Curry with Rice, Stir fried veggies and Bobba Coffee.

I loved the fact that their service was unexpectedly quick inspite of it was busy on Sunday afternoon. I really liked the Tofu Green Curry (Vegetarian and spicy). I wish the curry could have thicker gravy.

But there are a few things I did not like about having lunch at Ben Thanh and those were: There was an unpleasant smell coming on the table where we were sitting. Maybe it was the smell of a cleaning liquid they used before they asked us to sit there. I didn't like the Green Papaya Salad it was just too bland and the only thing that could make it taste better was the spicy and tangy red sauce which was served with the salad but that sauce was too vinegary. Stir fried veggies were incredibly runny and the plate in which they served Stir fried veggies was not that big enough which can hold that ruuny gravy/Sauce. We asked them and showed them that this cwn make our table and clothes dirty and if they can change the plate? But they just usan extra plate and said sorry this how our chef made today. I am not a Bobba Coffee fan so may be that's the reason I didn't like Bobba Coffee. But if you love Bobba Coffee go for it.

I’ve always loved Ben Thanh, I’ve been at this location so many times and it has always been so good. Today was just the WORST SERVICE ever, I’m actually so disappointed and still flabbergasted from it, so many things went so wrong. First, the lady who was just standing and walking around there sat us at a DIRTY TABLE. It wasn’t wiped, the chairs were pulled out. I realized it when we sat that their clean tables have utensils ready on top. We sat and looked at the menu and there was no one “serving” our table. No water no nothing. We had to ask for utensils to eat for god sake. Our fried rice was served no spoon, our phos’ were served with no extra bowls when there was 4 of us. We had like 8 little chunks of fried fish, mind you it was $17 for that. It was so salty we didn’t even want to finish it. No one checked on us the whole time we were eating. They brought an appetizer out after we were basically done eating everything. Like oh my god. Everyone was just walking around and this was an hour before they were supposed to close. It didn’t look like they were understaffed at all. There was only like 5 tables occupied, it wasn’t busy at all.
