Maison Cloakroom is apparently rated as ✨️2nd best bar in Canada✨️ Why?) - the space is TINY. Normally, it would create an intimate vibe, but all it does is it forces you to sit millimeters away from strangers. Tipsy strangers, mind you. Strangers who have zero self-awareness, who don't know where their hands go or how obnoxiously loud they are. Gross. - our experience with the waiter was giving lack of communication skills. 💁‍♀️ They didn't finish listening to my preferences for the drink, they interrupted our conversation multiple times, and they were explaining things way too fast, One thing i understood about my drink and what goes in it is that... it was a drink. - as we came in, we were asked if we want still, sparkling or mineral water. I went for sparkling water, and when the bill came, they charged 10$ extra for it. Brother, ewwwww... I mean i get it, it makes sense, but why would u list a paid option together with a free option and never mention it? So unnecessarily sneaky. That's a scam they would do in Europe, not in the ✨️2nd best bar of Canada✨️ - The drink itself was okay. Good, but nothing life changing. For the same price, I've definitely had drinks better and fancier. - My favorite part about the bar is the way it is disguised as a clothing store and had a secret door. It's a place to try, but not to come back to. I have to give it 2 stars. It's the ✨️2nd best bar in Canada✨️, after all.

It used to be one of my favourite bars in Montreal but last night's experience completely ruined it for me. We waited in line for about an hour to get in and this time we were presented with a menu upon sitting down. The drinks that we got off the menu was absolutely horrible and came out of a can that was sold to us for 14 dollars each. The specialty of this bar was having no menus and the bar tender making the drinks for you according to your preference. Anyways when leaving the bar I mentioned this fact to the people standing outside in line that not to order anything off the menu and do the classic style of asking the bar tender what you like. However the owner of the bar happened to be right there when I said this and took it too personally. He started off by insulting me that I should not say this to customers and that I have no right to voice my option this way. He went off for another minute insulting my taste buds, culture and so on. I was so shocked at his behaviour that I was speechless. All I could say was 'okay'. I have never been treated this badly in Montreal and for sure I am never coming back here. All this after after spending 140 dollars at this establishment.

So, I found this place tonight with my mate Steve. What can I say, very secretive, very cool, very amazing in every way. If you want to pay $5 for a cocktail then this isn’t the place for you. If you want a small cozy and cool cocktail bar where the bar man (Max) will whip up a cocktail based on your mood and what you like, spend 10 minutes making it (attention to detail as never before seen) and stamp the ice for a total of $16, then this is your place. Want to impress a first date? Wedding anniversary? Surprise party? Want to make an everlasting memory, come here. I arrived, cloakroom is mandatory, but the guy was the most humble and nicest guy, I sat down, wit him a minute I had a glass of water and a shot mix of 3 sherries, a Chinese tea and a few bitters. The cocktail took Max10 minute to create, watching him was worth the $16. Everyone are nice, humble, respectful. I just found my new...
