I have debated and gone back and forth about wether or not to leave a review as it is NOT in my habits to ever do that however this was the most horrid hair colour I've ever had and the worst experience in customer service that I ever had. For starters, I am a salon owner and hairstylist myself and was so excited to finally be "treating" myself and be a client for once myself. I hadn't coloured my hair in over a year , as it had some damage and was dry from previous colours. So I booked my appointment with this celebrity colourist so that after a year of hair break I would have the hair of my dreams. I will start by saying that the salon is gorgeous and clean. My appointment was with Max himself. I was a very clear about wanting bronde hair and most of my hair asides from 3 inches of natural dark brown root was already lightened. I specifically mentioned wanting a bold face frame and some warm bright light. Max mentioned not wanting to lighten my already lightened hair as he was worried it would be comprised so we agreed to lighten up my roots and match it to the bottom. Fast forward a few hours later , a hair stylist is drying my hair and I am now having a full pn panic attack. my hair is mushroom brown, matte and borderline grey/green. A complete atrocity that has aged me years for nothing. The stylist drying my hair notices my panic , AGREES that my colour is off and really not cute , gets Max who brings me to natural light to tell me "hey , at least its not black.... its beige and don't worry if anything in a few washes will get lighter. literally in tears , no apology for unnecessarily darkening my hair by three levels for absolutely no reason , just directed to the cash. I paid. And cried all the way home. I sent Max a message , explained how horrified and dissapointed I was and asked what the solution was.I will NEVER complain about a price if I have left HAPPY AND SATISFIED. His response was basically he broke down his prices and shrugged me off. My hair is the problem. its damaged. No hunny, putting a 7M toner on my pre lighted hair and 5N as a shadow root is the problem. I left my house that morning with black hair and came home with muddy medium brown hair. And ALL I GOT WAS A SHOULDER SHRUG answer ? let me tell you , all that glitters isn't gold. I would never let anyone leave my chair , let alone my salon like that. EVER. Most disgusting , diva attitude customer service........
**Thank you for proving the horrible customer service that you're salon offers with your response. You have a lot to learn when it comes to this area. When you're clients express unhappiness and dissatisfaction, you should provide a solution to work together. Not continue to try and prove why you are right. To be clear, the damage didn't come from unsatisfactory work, as mentioned it came from changing hair colours and returning to blonde. Don't get it twisted. You're work was the only work I've ever had at a salon that I was unhappy with.. Not being able to be blonde, and being given a muddy, greyish green brown allover colour is 2 different things.
My point of your diva behaviour in not being able to accept an unsatisfactory job, and trying to come to a solution to fix is exactly what I'm talking about.
People make mistakes sometimes, were human. Next time this happens, stop pointing the finger at your client, and just come up with a solution to appease your paying clients. Thats the whole...

Here is how I can best describe my wife's experience at this Salon:
Walking into Max Gourgues Hair Salon, my wife was brimming with optimism, ready to entrust her hair to Max's supposedly capable hands. Expecting a masterpiece, instead she got a masterclass in mediocrity. she was a bit late, a “cardinal sin” in the hair world, apparently.
Max, the so-called 'colorist,' approached her very quickly. He slapped on some of the color before disappearing faster than a politician's promise, leaving my wife wondering if perhaps he'd gone on a quest to find his work ethic. Or maybe he'd simply forgotten that the whole point of a hair salon visit is, you know… Actually finishing the job.
The level of neglect she experienced was spectacular. Not once did he check the fruits of his labor—assuming we can call it labor. I've seen more commitment from a cat deciding whether to nap in the sun or the shade for the evening. It was as if he thought the mere touch of his brush would magically ensure perfection, bypassing the need for any form of quality control or, dare I say, customer satisfaction.
And let's talk about the language barrier. My wife's French isn't great, but a smile or a gesture goes a long way. Instead, she got the feeling they were using the language gap as an excuse to ignore the fact that her hair looked like just a normal dye job in a cheap salon. Silence It's the international language of indifference, and boy, were they fluent!
To add insult to injury, she was charged as if she had received the full Monte Carlo experience, when in reality, she only got the back alley quick wash. It's a bit like paying for a first-class ticket on the TITANIC. Sure, it's grand, but you're not going to enjoy the ending.
In the spirit of constructive criticism—wrapped in the kind of blunt honesty you'd expect after such an experience—I'd say this: A salon visit should feel like a transformation, not a transaction. To Max and his team, I implore you: either find the passion for your craft that has clearly gone missing or consider a career change. Perhaps into something less demanding, like rock breaking or perhaps, bird watching.
Remember, in the world of salons and hair stylists, you're only as good as your last hair job - or in this case, half job. And this one was at best a...
Read moreThis is my honest opinion of a professional stylish woman . So gave Oscar many chances as I wanted to love his work but out of 7 services 1pass and 6 flocks with 1000+$ short . Once at the cash quickly take money from his overprice bill and run, ur lucky if u get a goodbyeand a thank u. Try to speak to him about my concerns to come to a understanding never returns and calls . Ask to speak to the owner max even worst. According to the receptionist Stephanie she related my concern many time . Oscar admitted few time he made a mistake. Once charged half price . The other rip off..he is unprofessional. Unless ur 22or less less I suggest don't go there . It's about 1 style for a Instagram pic . Ohhh he actually told me he doesn't know how to lighten eyebrows lol really now. Salon no business card . Spacious . Not welcoming . Not well organized. Avoid ,u less ur the hairdresser inner circle. U will be treated poorly but charge with no shame for their bad job. Yes u will not find me under tia . But Stephanie and Oscar will remember as Maria. So find me and see all my wasted money at your salon...
