It was fun while it lasted! Beautiful, long sandy beach. Smooth sand with a shallow entry; you can walk a long way before it starts to get deep. But beware the municipal signs that advise "swimmer's itch is possible at this location". I thought it would be fine given how late in the season it is, and the fact there hasn't been rainfall for weeks, but I'm now covered head to toe with swimmer's itch. The water also has a strange film and is hazy it so I should have heeded my instincts to avoid a swim here, despite the unseasonably warm weather. On the plus side, the children's playground and the walk along the waterfront are both fabulous.

Our family has been visiting this beach for over 40 years. We absolutely love it. There's lots to do for all ages. Everything is within walking distance, including the carousel. There is also a great walking path through beautiful gardens and a marina. Washrooms are clean, and there is a large playground beside the beach. There are also lifeguards on the beach. Water is clean.

This is one if the finest lake beach I ever saw. The white sand, the gentle slope to the lake water make it very attractive. As the water is not deep near the beach even kids can play safely. Moreover within walking distance you can get boat and bicycle for rent, toy train ride for only $2. The children play ground adjusting to this beach is also good.

Shabogesic Beach is like one of those secret spots you almost don’t want to tell anyone about… but I just can’t help myself! It’s peaceful, beautiful, and so laid back, it feels like time slows down the moment you step on the sand. The soft sand and clear, calm water make it feel like a little slice of paradise. The water was so clear I could see my toes—and that’s saying something!

What really makes this beach special is how untouched it feels. It’s like nature’s best-kept secret—no crowds, no chaos, just you, the waves, and maybe a few seagulls giving you the side-eye for your snacks. Perfect for families, or if you’re like me and just need a quiet place to pretend you’ve got your life together for an afternoon.

We brought a picnic and spent the whole day enjoying the view and the fresh air. It was a bit too cold for a swim, but the beauty of the place more than made up for it. Honestly, it’s the kind of place where you think, “Okay, maybe I’ll just live here now.” If you’re looking for a beach that’s more ‘chill day in nature’ and less ‘tourist trap,’ Shabogesic is your place. Just don’t tell too many...
