Alger Furniture & Appliances — Local services in North Bay

We have been dealing with Alger Furniture & Appliances for over 35 years and always have had excellent service. A few days ago our oven died and I checked around online and most big box stores quoted 2-4 weeks for delivery. On a Friday at 5:45 I called and spoke to Ian Alger and he said they had exactly what we wanted in a Whirlpool model and he gave me the model number and price. The online reviews were excellent and their price was exactly the same as the big boxes stores. He had it outside Saturday morning at 9:00 and our son picked it up and brought it out to our cottage. Sales person was lovely and sale transaction was smooth and very pleasant. Delivery, however, was a nightmare. Despite having scheduled a delivery at the time of sale, the owner insisted on delivering much earlier than scheduled. I was in a doctors appointment and I had to scramble to find someone to let them in. He was pushy, rude and clearly had something more important to do than deliver my furniture. In addition, I strongly suspect that the chair they sold me has been used (maybe a return?) because I had to spray it with febreeze and vinegar to get the smell out of it. Won’t go back and...
