Party City — Attraction in North Vancouver

I never write on google reviews - in fact this is my first one, but felt it was extremely necessary. The customer service at this place is a joke. Called ahead to see if they had a costume that was on their website because I was coming up from Squamish. Lady answered the phone and was clearly annoyed that I didn't have a PLU # for a Costume I was looking for and that it would take her way too long to find it without one... so I get off the phone and do her job by finding the #. It took me 5 seconds to find this number online, so SURELY an employee is smart enough to do this right? Wrong.

Call back 5 times with no response, so am forced to drive 45 min from Squamish. When I get there, the same lady is there and tells me that the numbers I wrote down are not accurate... except they are because when she punches them into the computer she finds the costume, but says she doesn't have it. I will never be coming back to the Party city in north van. I went there last night to get a singing balloon for my friends nieces 6th bday party today. Upon getting home I noticed that the balloon had already deflated a bit. So I called them and they said to come in and exchange it. Even though it was out of my way I went back this morning only to have some young cashier tell me that there was nothing wrong with the balloon and she wouldn't exchange it, but would put more helium in it. I found it rude that this girl was telling me I was basically crazy and I said to her " if I have to come back a 3rd time I am not going to be happy." Sure enough I put the balloon in the car and grab a couple things from save on and come back and it's deflated again. The girl was lucky that she wasn't there when I went back or I would have lit her up. A complete waste of my time. I should have gone to the dollar store. Incompetent staff and clearly...

This was the worst experience going to a party store I have ever had. First off, I went to this specific location because their website said they had a couple of items I wanted in stock. They were simple things and the employee didn't even check or look at my photos before immediately saying they didn't have it. Moving on, my kids (a 1 and 2 year old) went to get other things. It was my one year old's actual birthday and they had wanted a balloon. When I asked them to blow one up, the lady just rudely said it'd be forty minutes because she had a lot of bouquet orders. It wasn't like my kids were having tantrums or anything but he did keep pointing at the balloons. So when I paid I asked again for a simple latex balloon and she said oh well only 25 minutes now- clearly she's not a parent.
