Bronte Outer Harbour — Attraction in Oakville

Pretty busy place and they don't take reservations, so go early if you have a large group. Appys were okay, some of the dishes were over salted but overall okay. I would recommend the lobster cobb salad - it is big enough for a meal for sure. The mains do not come with a carb so they are a bit light. I was a bit disappointed in the tiny piece of pork belly for the surf and turf ( photo ), considering how inexpensive a cut of meat it is and I found the sauce good for the pork but overpowering for the scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly . Atmosphere is upbeat, music is good and not too loud, which was nice. The servers were a bit unorganized, but for the most part professional and had a genuine smile. We ended up waiting quite a long time for most of our entrees, but the manager apologized and took drinks off our bill. Overall a good experience, with lessons learned. I would go back and try...

We were there on a summer like fall day. Friday after 4pm. Lots of parking available. You pay at a pay station. 2 hours for $3.00. Walked to the end of the pier where the lighthouse is. Lots of folks sitting on benches enjoying the sun. There were fishermen at the opposite side of the channel fishing from the pier. We did see a big fish jumped out from the water. Couldn't tell what type it was. There is a restaurant and ice cream bar east of the pier. Public boat launching is available near the Bronte Beach Park off West River Street. Lots of parking there too. Caution: Do not park in the lot of the plaza located at the South East corner of Bronte and Lakeshore Road unless you're shopping there. They will tag and tow your vehicle....

Visited twice as a short stay slip to have dinner at the BoatHouse restaurant, and was met at the dock with the nicest person this world has to offer. Her name is Emily. Kind, courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating, are just a few of the qualities she expressed to us that day.
