Village Taste — Restaurant in Oakville

I never leave reviews because I always think everyone deserves a second chance. But this experience was by far, one of the worst restaurants my family has been to.

We wanted to support our local Pakistani restaurant, especially because its new. We walked in and felt strange right away. The place was empty, they have sofas and coffee tables instead of regular dining. It was a lounge not a restaurant. It gave zero feeling of “village” something we looked forward to.

The lady was very kind and sweet who was serving us. But the somosas were frozen in the middle, clearly re-fried at least 2 times based on the very dark colour outside. The butter chicken was old, and the beef was clearly re heated.

The karahi was NOT karahi. It was something else. My family has had karahi all over the GTA, and this deserves a 0/10. The meat looked raw, it was clearly thickened and very soup based. I was shocked. My mom was very sad as this was her birthday dinner.

If it doesn’t get worse, we found metal shavings in the karahi (likely from a dish scrubber). My family calmly talked to the waiter and she was very apologetic. We aren’t the type to make a big deal or be difficult.

To take this one step further, my little sisters lip has an infection, lower part — exactly where the glass touched. We should have known better and ordered straws. We went straight home after, it’s easy to tie it back to the...

4th & limiting forever visit: I'll only visit when I don't feel like traveling to other preferred Asian restaurants. Quantity & Quality are out of balance & although I'm not wheelchair disabled, I hate places that don't facilitate their access. 3rd Visit: Meat portions were still lacking but the taste was very good. I'd buy more often if the quantity matched the quality. After my second visit, I hope they do well. Unfortunately, although the food was great, 1st visit I was disappointed in the portion of meat in the rice. The flavor was so awesome that I gave a second chance. That dish was appropriately portioned. However, the butter chicken that I added didn't have close to the meat expected based on cost: less than one breast side of the chicken portion. Their taste is sooo good that I'll try again. However, if they cheat me out on the meat again I'll update this review as needed. I reeaaaly hope they correct this shortcoming their taste is...

I’m not sure how your restaurant has good reviews. It was one of the worst food I had in my life. I usually dont bother writing reviews but I’m extremely disappointed with the food we had today the naans were burnt, nihari was no where close to nihari was some kind of stale oily quorma. Biryani had the smallest possible chicken boti that no one would bother eating in a left over home cooked biryani let alone paying and ordering it. Stale tasteless food. It’s a shame that restaurants are selling this just to earn profits and have no care about their reputation.
