We recently booked a group package at iFLY Oakville for our daughter’s birthday — up to 13 people, 26 flights. Our total cost, including three “high flights,” was over $700. What should have been a memorable birthday celebration was instead ruined by unbearable heat, unusable party facilities, and extremely poor customer service from management.
We booked on a Friday for the following Monday, as we were visiting from out of province. The email said to arrive at 5:45, yet the debrief didn’t start until after 6:00. Downstairs was already stifling. Staff reassured us it would be cooler upstairs, but it was even hotter there. The outside temperature was around 40°C (humidex higher), yet there was no working AC, and the only fan was pointed at staff, not guests. I had explained during booking that my daughter has a health condition and would mask until flying. At no point were we warned the AC had been broken for weeks. Guests had already traveled from across the province, yet the heat was unacceptable and dangerous.
When I raised the issue with a staff member, I was told to speak with the manager upstairs. The main manager, Jelena — also our assigned instructor — was in the tunnel. When she came out, staff explained we wanted to discuss the heat. She offered to rebook us, but we were from out of province and flying home the next day, making that impossible. I reminded her the booking was just three days prior and that our daughter’s condition had been discussed, yet no warnings about AC issues had been given. She said she would “speak with the person who booked us.”
I told her the heat was unacceptable given the cost. She smirked and rolled her eyes. When I asked for some form of compensation, she replied: “So if I give you a discount, will that make you less hot?” This was dismissive, disrespectful, and unprofessional. While a discount does nothing to alleviate the dangerous, unbearable heat, her attitude, smirks, and offhand comments made the interaction worse.
We were refunded only $89 — a token amount for a package costing over $700. The heat also made the 1.5-hour private party room unusable, so we held our after-flight birthday gathering outside in the parking lot, seeking shade and cooling off. Staff warned that the tunnel would be hotter than the already sweltering waiting area.
The package included photos and videos of each flight, but the link we received does not work. Customer service told us their system isn’t operational. It is now day three after the event, and we still have no access.
To be fair, Jelena is an exceptionally skilled flyer and instructor. Her demonstrations amazed children and adults. She managed flyers of all sizes, divided the 26 flights as requested, and conducted in-tunnel instruction expertly. However, her customer service was unacceptable. Her dismissive attitude, smirks, and lack of accountability created an uncomfortable dynamic, made worse by her dual role as manager and instructor. We had to request a fan for the guest area — something that should have been standard.
Another major point of confusion was the “high fly” add-ons. These are not extra flights. They cost $19.99 per flyer plus tax but consume one of the package flights. We were specifically told during the debrief that we would use all 26 flights and then be offered high flights. If accepted at additional cost, we would be taken to the tunnel. We expected three additional flights but received none. Clear, upfront communication would have avoided this problem.
While the flying itself was enjoyable, the unbearable heat, poor communication, dismissive management, unusable party room, missing media, and uncomfortable interactions turned what should have been a joyous birthday into a frustrating and distressing experience. One child had sweat pouring down his cheeks during his time in the tunnel; my child and another girl left with pools of sweat in their goggles. Pre-teens were soaking wet after their flights. Adults were soaked even the ones...

For those that want details:
Absolutely amazing experience. Lots and lots of free parking and it’s all right outside the building. We walked in and were promptly and friendly greeted by the front desk staff. We checked in which was super easy.
Before your “flight” you spend some time getting some instructions then get a flight suit, helmet and goggles. Eric was our instructor and he was fantastic. Very friendly, easy to understand, gives off great, fun vibes, gave multiple opportunities for Q&A. He was super Patient with kids and grownups alike. He gave the young kids just as much energy and attention as he gave to the grownups.
The flight itself was amazing. Ok it took a few seconds to get used to it but each flight is approximately 1 minute ish. Once you’re positioned right, the top of the wind tunnel is the limit! Sort of. We paid extra for 2 high flying flights so that you get to go even higher. The folks with regular flights had just as great a time. I don’t think I se anyone leave that was I happy with the time. I’ve seen a lot of complaints that it’s a lot of money for such short flights. We were actually ok with it. It’s a very rare and unique experience. I’m not a rich person by any means but when we were finished I thought it was a great experience for the money. During your flights, They take video and pics for you to buy afterwards which was great. All in all an amazing experience and had a blast!!
Oh, one last detail.. the photos and videos they take: not flattering lol. Not because of their equipment , it’s because they’re taking them while you’ve got 150-165 km / h winds stretching...
Read moreThe location is great and if you’re coming by car, it’s very easy to reach and you won’t have any issues with parking. I don’t have any information about public transit, so I can’t speak to that. The restrooms are clean, and the staff is very welcoming. Everything is smooth up to this point. They organize sessions every thirty minutes, and if you arrive early, you can watch the group before you participate, which is quite entertaining and helps pass the time without getting bored. When your session starts, the instructor calls your group and provides a brief but efficient training. They also assist everyone individually while gearing up, which makes the experience smooth and enjoyable.
During the session, I highly recommend opting for the high flight add-on; it’s the highlight of the experience. Without it, the session feels more like a simple tryout than something truly exciting.
However, don’t expect it to be like real skydiving. It’s more of an experience than an adrenaline rush. It was different and unique for me, but it wasn’t particularly exciting, scary, or thrilling. If you come in expecting a skydiving-like thrill, you might be disappointed. I suggest managing your expectations accordingly.
One major downside is the quality of the photos and videos they sell. Despite the high price, the quality was incredibly poor—some of the worst I’ve ever paid for. If you have someone with you, it’s much better to ask them to record your flight from outside using a phone. The results will be far superior. Honestly, spending money on their photos and videos felt like a...
