Had dinner there tonight and we usually love K&B sushi but this location was not the greatest. Actually it was terrible. I dont even know where to start.
First, the food tasted awful. Meat was undercooked, chicken was dry, the noodles were overcooked and the fried rice lacked flavour. The soup wasnt even hot, seemed like it was just microwaved and put together. Food quality was just horrible. I was scared to even order more or other things on the menu cause it was getting worse as we kept changing the items.
Second, people are not wearing their masks. I think at a time we are at, they should be more strict about that like many other establishments. They are too relaxed with that. They shouldnt make any exceptions whats so ever.
Third, the cleanliness is disgusting. The ladies washroom looks like it hasn’t been cleaned or sanitized. It was so dirty that there were toilet papers on the floor and the door was filthy. It was just plainly disgusting!! The floor where the tables are placed is horrendous!! A lot of left over food that hasn’t been swept or cleaned up and left for the next customer. I stepped on an avocado when we were sat down by the manager. And I noticed as we left that they do a quick sweep but not clean everything up.
Fourth, the servers are rude. And they RUSH you before you even get to finish asking what you needed. Or they just walk pass by you. One lady didnt even acknowledge what I had asked, she didnt respond to me after asking for a fork but she brought it two minutes later. I was so confused.
And lastly, the manager is very clueless. Prior to leaving, I had spoken to him in a very calm way and expressed my concerns about everything I mentioned on this review. And all he did was stare at me like he doesnt understand what I had just said. As a manager and especially at a time we are in, I expected an explanation or at least a genuine sorry or that he will talk to his cook or something better than just a stare and an “OK” as a response. I normally dont give bad reviews but this dinner was basically ruined. Im hoping not to get food poisoning with how they handled their food tonight.
And mind you, they automatically added a 15% tip on the bill for two people and truthfully, with this kind of service, if they gave us a choice, definitely NO TIP and we sure as hell are not coming back to this location. That tip was for horrible...
Read moreCame in earlier this week. When we asked for the bill we told them that we were going to do the birthday discount that was displayed on their menu. It explicitly says that birthday celebrants will receive a 50 percent discount when dining in with a group of 4 or more. They told us that they were no longer doing that discount without any prior notice before dining. When we asked them to show us where in the restaurant that it stated that they were no longer doing the discount they were unable to. Cindy, who was the manager that dealt with us first told us that they didn’t do any birthday discounts at all. But then later told us that we weren’t able to do due to the fact that we were a group of 4 and not 5. But just earlier she said they didn’t do the discount at all, So which one is it? We then told her to show us where in the store it is stated. Cindy began to raise her voice and talk back to us and berated us to let her speak. When she was the one to cut us off. In the end, the staff was unable to prove to us that there was any prior notice aka a sign that states that the discount was no longer available.
I would like to emphasize that we were just asking for what was advertised on their own menu in store. We understand that since it is an iPad app they are unable to change it. But all customers should be notified before dining whether it be directly from the host/server or even a sign. It’s is not fair to suddenly change the price and or discount on the fly.
Even after Cindy gave us the discount, she gave us attitude by telling us this was the last time she would do this. When we suggested that she put up a sign so it doesn’t happen again. She yelled at us and we had to tell her to get the terminal because she started rambling. Very disappointed in their customer service as the store admittedly have decent food for ayce. I ordered the Lunch Tempura meal at your Oakville location, September 19, 2025. When I took a bite of the tempura crab meat, I was horrified and disgusted to find it still in the plastic sleeve, how it must have been delivered to the restaurant, in my mouth! It had not been removed in the kitchen and was in cased in the tempura batter! This was no small piece of plastic. The crab meat is approximately 3 inches in length. The staff was immediately notified. My only regret is that it was taken away from me before I took a picture. I asked to speak to a Manager but was told that none were on that day. I was offered a new meal and a $3.00 discount! I told the server that $3.00 was an insult for this type of scenario, the meal should have been, at best, at no charge. She said it was the best she could do. I even had to tell a server this wasn't funny when she laughed about it. I was told to call the Manager, Apple the next day, who was in total agreement on how her staff handled the situation but offered me a 15% discount on my next meal. She said things like this happen in the restaurant business !
