Gananoque Boat Tours — Attraction in Ontario

Awesome experience! With so many boat tour choices this one was really good! The tour is 1.5 hours to the island 2 hours at boldt castle and another 1.5 hours back. You are not on the boat for the full 5 hours! The boat is 3 story's the bottom floor is noisy from the motor but has a great front area to take pics but your feet do get wet up there. The lower level has a bathroom and a bar/ concession stand with popcorn, candy, and light snacks. The middle floor has more bench style seating and a very nice area at the front for standing and getting a great view but claim it fast because everyone wants this area. There is also a small bench seat in the front area as well. The top tier has lots of bench seating and the captains area is neat The captain let's people inside his area on the way back to get good pics and steer the boat. I recommend the 3-8pm tour because you get great views of the sunset it's very romantic with the islands and sun set and music playing in the back ground. There is a TV and narrated show that gives fun facts in English and French through out the tour. The boat ride is definitely cool so bring a sweat shirt. We took the 3 hour cruise that passed by the Boldt castle, and were thoroughly impressed by the infrastructure and the details that were put into the home. It was a cloudy day so the boat wasn’t too packed, it rained for a 1/3 of our trip, but we took it easy inside. The intercom/commentary is quite interesting, however it isn’t always well synchronized and can get annoying after a while. My wife and I took the 1-hour Gananoque Boat Tour of the 1000 Islands, offered by City Cruises, and it was an incredible experience! We chose to sit on the top deck, which was a bit windy but offered fantastic views. The crew were friendly and the narration provided fascinating insights into the various islands and the charming cottages built on them.
