This is my Review & Experience at the so called Comfort Inn & Suites Thousand Islands Harbour District. Comfort for those who don't care.
I don’t usually write reviews like this, but my experience was so bad, I have to share it. What happened to this place? It used to be decent, but now it's a complete disaster.
Room Condition:
First, the smell. As soon as we walked into the room, there was this old, musty carpet smell, which was just the beginning of the nightmare. I started looking around, and that’s when things got really disturbing. The bathroom? At first glance, okay but once I started noticing details, I was horrified. There was mold all over the sink edges, and the tub was covered in big black stain lines. Hair Long, black, and tangled up in the shower curtain like something straight out of a horror movie "The Grudge". The showerhead had this weird green buildup all over it, making it look like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Walking in was like stepping into a place abandoned for years.
Beds and Linens:
Then we got to the beds. I thought, finally, a decent spot to rest, but no. From a distance, the beds looked clean and comfortable, but up close, they were disgusting. Stains something smeared across the sheets, plus ink marks, coffee stains, and things I don’t even want to think about. I swear, with a blacklight, it would probably look like a crime scene. We called the receptionist, and her response? “The bed covers and sheets are just old.” Seriously? That’s your answer? She eventually brought us new pillowcases, but they were the same stained and old. After more back and forth, she finally found some that seemed clean. But who knows if they actually were.
Breakfast Disaster:
The breakfast experience was so bizarre and bad, it honestly felt like a prank. First, the eggs cold, hard, and rubbery. I’m not exaggerating; you could slap someone with those eggs and knock them out. Then, there were the sausages only pork, which I usually enjoy, but these were burnt on one end, undercooked on the other. Dangerous stuff if you’re not going to cook it right! And the beans? They tasted like they were dumped straight out of a can, leaving that acidic aftertaste.
The potatoes? Oh boy. Some were so rock hard, I thought I might break a tooth. Some were chewy, some were cold, and the seasoning was just bad. It was almost funny if I hadn’t been so hungry.
The mini fridge was pitiful: a couple of boiled eggs, some yogurt, and no cream cheese. When we asked, we were told they’d have it “tomorrow.” Two days later still no cream cheese. The breakfast server was hiding out in the reception area, leaving the cleaning staff wandering around like they didn’t know what to do. They used to have fruit here, but it seems they can’t “afford” it anymore. It felt like they’d totally given up on feeding guests.
The muffins? They were supposed to be moist, but instead, they crumbled like sand with every bite. Completely tasteless, with this stale, musty smell that suggested they’d been sitting there for who knows how long.
And just when we thought things couldn’t get weirder, the server finally appears. It was like she materialized out of nowhere almost like a witch, lurking and watching. She came to our table, sat herself down, and stared at us, like she was sizing us up, maybe even thinking, “I already fed them they’re fat and juicy time to start cooking them.” It was honestly freaky. Finally, she leaned in and said, “Are you finished? I’m closing the kitchen.”
We hadn’t eaten anything I was somehow hungrier than when I’d started. The only thing I managed was a piece of bread with butter. Frustrated, fed up, and still starving, we just stood up and left. If breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day, then this place didn’t get the memo. This was a nightmare meal served with a side of creepy vibes. Well it is🎃 Halloween
Overall:
If you’re thinking of staying here, don’t. Spare yourself the headache and stay somewhere else even if it means going all the way to Kingston. This place isn’t worth a...
Read moreI'm not sure what more you could ask for. This would've been a five star review but everything has to be 100% perfect to get a five star for me. There were some minor little things not worth mentioning and did not hamper our stay or change any of our opinions. Looking at previous reviews - if you are used to staying in a five-star hotel with doorman then you're not going to review this place accurately. The rooms were clean and smelt wonderful, the air air-conditioning and heat worked flawlessly with no weird smells. There was a fridge and a microwave in the room which typically does not Happen Without extra charges. The hallways and exterior of the building were clean. I'm not sure why people are saying it cost you to park in the parking lot because the parking lot at the hotel was free. Parking in the community is pay per use. You are within walking distance of the boat tours and a few restaurants. It is an extremely short drive to the downtown where you can find restaurants and some shops. There are a couple of museums within walking distance as well. The location is perfect. Breakfast was part of the deal. Again if you're expecting a five star restaurant breakfast then you are going to be disappointed. The breakfast, however, was good and typical hotel buffet style with lots of choices And honestly what more could you asked for. You're not wearing a three-piece suit when you come down to have some scrambled eggs and sausage. What does get a five star review is the staff. The front check-in clerks, both evening and night were super amazing and kind and courteous. They answered all our annoying tourist, questions and inserted local knowledge in giving suggestions of places to eat as well as things to do in the area as well as outside of the area. Cleaning staff were kind and courteous, and everyone had a smile. The wonderful ladies assisting with breakfast this morning were also extremely helpful and always had a smile. This is 100% the place we will be staying. Should we pass through...
Read moreI do not recommend this hotel. It has gone downhill since 2021. The desk staff are wonderful except a manager named Debbie. She called me up today, after the desk staff I have been dealing with were absolutely fantastic. Debbie called me up to tell me in an un-nice and patronizing tone of voice that my simple linen requests cannot be carried out. It was nothing complicated at all. Her treatment to me was unwarranted, as well, she didn't understand that I could not talk longer on the phone than I was able to. I was in complete shock i was being spoken to in such a way. I cancelled my reservation after her horrible treatment. I will not be back. Also, the last time I stayed there, I was given a room with stains on the bedsheets and two corners of the king mattress were completely open, foam protruding and there were silver staples trying to hold the corner of the mattress shut despite the foam protruding. It was disgusting. I did not get any discounts and I should not have stayed in that room, I asked for new bed linens and had to make my own bed in a very tired state. It was deplorable.
Special shout out to Nolan, Shaun, Kimberly as they provided me with excellent customer service on the telephone. I really appreciate them.
There is a resort in the Niagara region that I go to a few times a year that is more than happy to give me my linen requests and they know how I like my bed made and have the instructions on my file there. They are absolutely amazing. I have the utmost confidence in my room when I stay there and if there is anything wrong it is happily tended to and they give you options of fruit or a bottle of wine, etc. to make up for it and make your stay extra special.
After Debbie's treatment today towards myself, it ruined me wanting to stay there.
Hopefully others have a better...
