Dining in the Caboto lounge about fifty times over twenty years, pizzas 1 through 47 ranged from enjoyable to wonderful but:
Pizza #48 (a month ago): burned. Pizza #49 (last night): burned. Pizza #50 (last night): burned – even after mentioning #49!
I've never complained about food. In fact, I didn’t know how to do it but, so concerned, suddenly found myself at the counter standing across three “cooks” saying, “Guys, you can’t send out burnt pizzas. You can’t do that.” Their faces as listless as their impact on my evening; as passionless as garbage men on a hot day; as if their personalities had been adopted from a zombie movie; almost as if pleasantly surprised by receiving a “D” on their culinary project versus the “F” they expected. Caboto Club was long idolized as one of the most cherished pizza experiences in Windsor – and that’s saying a ton in a town teeming with pizza masters. Now? Soulless staff kick out blackened pies as if retaliating to their conditions, the club, the people, their lives.
I sense that patrons’ expectations have declined over the years as socialized by the mediocrity and carelessness that now occupies a spiritless kitchen without standards or even self-respect.

I used to come here years ago while in college, and I remember all the food being excellent. Now this may be my changing tastes, but I don't think so. With that said the chicken was good, not dry, and may have been brined. Quite good. The roast potatoes were cooked perfectly, though the seasoning was minimal, a disappointment.
The staff that attended worked the gathering were coldly, efficient. Not friendly but not hostile, just all business.
There is one thing that stood out. I headed to the bar to hit the ATM, and turned the corner to have my nose assaulted by the delightful smells of a traditional Italian wood-fired pizza oven. The smells were incredible. I will be trying this in the near future.
Overall,...
Read moreThe food was overpriced , overrated and just plain awful. I attended yesterday for my daughter's graduation. It costed us 20 dollars a head...dry penne that tasted like chef boy r d (my husband wouldn't even eat it, and believe me, he eats anything), soggy salad with no flavor, buns that tasted like croutons (they were so hard), flat soda, the only good thing was the California mixed vegetables , no meat , unless u count the ground up whatever was in the penne, (it tasted like that fake hamburger they use on their tacos at taco bell) and the service was extremely slow..in conclusion $80.00....would have been better suited for Red Lobster , and if I could rate this no stars , I would have...TAKE YOUR MONEY TO FRANCO'S, or something like that, at least you'll get your money's worth, and a tasty meal..I think all their money was spent on the decor, I think they need Gordon Ramsey to help with their ...
