I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Swaad, a hidden gem located on Tecumseh Road in Windsor. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the excellent ambience that enveloped the restaurant. The warm lighting, tasteful decor, and comfortable seating created a cozy and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
One unique aspect of Indian Swaad that caught my attention was the chef's talent as a painter. As I waited for my meal, I couldn't help but admire the beautiful paintings adorning the walls. It's not every day that you come across a restaurant where the chef's creativity extends beyond the kitchen, and it added an extra touch of artistry to the overall dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food, which truly stole the show. The Chicken Kabab was outstanding, cooked to perfection with a tantalizing blend of spices that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The Samosa Chat, a popular street food in India, was a burst of flavors, combining crispy samosas with tangy chutneys and aromatic spices. It was a true explosion of taste and texture.
The Goat Curry was another highlight of the menu. The tender meat simmered in a rich and aromatic sauce, infused with traditional Indian spices, transported me to the streets of Delhi with every mouthful. Paired with the complimentary rice, it was a heavenly combination that left me longing for more.
For those seeking a vegetarian delight, the Masala Dosa at Indian Swaad is a must-try. The thin, crispy dosa filled with a savory potato filling and served with coconut chutney and sambar was simply divine. The flavors were authentic, and the dosa was cooked to perfection, making it a delight for all the senses.
I was equally impressed with the professional staff at Indian Swaad. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Their passion for Indian cuisine was evident in the way they presented each dish and provided recommendations based on individual preferences. The service was prompt, ensuring that my dining experience was seamless from start to finish.
In conclusion, Indian Swaad is a restaurant that goes above and beyond to deliver an exceptional dining experience. From the excellent ambience and the chef's artistic flair to the mouthwatering Chicken Kabab, Samosa Chat, Goat Curry, and complimentary rice, not to mention the delectable Masala Dosa, this establishment offers a true taste of India. Combined with the professionalism of the staff, a visit to Indian Swaad is a culinary journey that you won't...
Read moreReply to Indian Swaad's response: The audacity to dismiss this as “ingenuine” is truly shocking. We were a party of five plus a child, and we came in on August 17th for the afternoon buffet. The total bill was $101.70 CAD, to be exact.
Your response tactic is also quite telling—you’ve simply copy-pasted the same reply to all of our reviews. We even have pictures from that day, already posted by my cousin Abhijeet on this page. Instead of trying to invalidate your customers’ experiences, take responsibility for your actions.
This behavior is absurd, nonsensical, and pure gaslighting. It also seems to be a pattern—your waitress did the exact same thing that day, which only reinforces our point. And if it’s genuinely true that you don’t have any record, then that further proves what we experienced: your staff falsely claimed to have a recording and even attempted to show us something that never existed.
Original Review posted on Aug 17th: We came here today for the lunch buffet with family and it was a complete disaster. The buffet was basically just gravy—no actual food pieces left. We asked at least 4–5 times for it to be refilled, but nothing was done. The waitress attending our table lied and said she had refilled it when clearly she hadn’t.
When we asked to speak with the manager, she straight up refused to call him. When we asked about checking the cameras to prove her claim, she denied it again. My husband tried to record her rude behavior, and instead of fixing the problem, she flipped the story and accused us of recording her.
The staff were rude, dishonest, and careless. They didn’t care about the food, didn’t care about the service, and definitely didn’t care about the customers....
Read moreMe and my family (4 people) were there this evening. We ordered some starters including golgappas. The stuffing in golgappa was not fresh at all. As soon as we ate that we realize the stuffing had a very bad smell like it’s been made fairly early. We mentioned it to the server right after and she mentioned it to the cook and they said no it’s fresh and she took the rest and never came back with the fresh ones. We ate the rest of our food which was fine, we haven’t had any issue with Tandoori Chicken, soya chaap, pakoras and Honey chilli cauliflower. The surprising thing was, when we asked the server to get us the bill, she charged us for the food we never had. When we asked her why we should pay for something we didn’t eat as it was bad she didn’t say anything. My husband said no problem we will pay and will leave a review about it, she said “please don’t post a review I’ll talk to my manager if he has to say anything about it”. When she came back she said noooooo you have to pay for everything. I paid everything and not happy at all how they treat their customers, specifically when you have a reason and didn’t eat that food. All I have to say is I am never going back to that place. Whoever is going now should ask for a sample before...
