I recently had the opportunity to visit the Paris Museum and Historical Society in Ontario and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. As someone with a keen interest in local history and culture, I found the museum to be a wonderful repository of knowledge about the Paris community and the surrounding region. The exhibits were thoughtfully curated and did an excellent job of taking visitors on a journey through the area's rich past. The displays covered a wide range of topics, from the indigenous peoples who first inhabited the land, to the arrival of European settlers, the industrial revolution, and the evolution of the town over the centuries. I particularly enjoyed the artifacts, photographs, and interactive elements that helped bring these historical narratives to life. Overall, I left the Paris Museum and Historical Society with a much deeper appreciation for the unique history and cultural heritage of the region. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone with an interest in local history or simply looking for a enriching and educational experience. The museum is a true gem in the community, and I hope it continues to thrive and inspire visitors for years to come.

2024 July 3★ A nice museum that you should stop by if you're in the town and want to learn more about the history. Paris was a plaster city being geologically suited in an area full of gypsum deposits. You'll learn about the cobble stoned houses in the area. A good archive lurks in the back. A nice museum. Parking just in front.

It's hidden away in the community center so we almost missed it but super glad to have visited. A lovely museum.

Visiting the Paris Museum & Historical Society was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. The research team went above and beyond to prepare for my visit...pulling photos, records, and even original letters written by my ancestors in the early 1900s. Holding those letters in my hands, knowing they were written by family over a century ago, was incredibly emotional and is something I will never forget!

The research team took exceptional care of everything and put so much time into gathering materials and sitting with me to talk about their findings. I came away feeling connected...not only to my own past, but to the community and the people who care so deeply about preserving its history. I am beyond grateful, and I very much look forward to visiting again...

My Mary Morton Tours group from Toronto enjoyed a wonderful and informative visit to the Paris Museum on Wednesday May 28. The volunteers were ever so knowledgeable and helpful. We could easily have lingered longer viewing the exhibits and chatting with these friendly folks. A return visit is certainly possible. Many thanks to Tina and all the fine people at the Paris Museum & Archives.
