This place has SO much potential, but it needs A LOT of work.
A group of 3 of us visited this restaurant yesterday. We each ordered the sandwiches which the waitress said are their most popular items on their menu. One ordered the turkey and cranberry on focaccia and two of us ordered the roasted chicken, fig and Brie on a baguette. Horrible. Probably the worst quality sandwich I have ever eaten. It was a cold, dry, stale bun with the thinnest slice of chicken breast, a slight smear of fig preserve, a couple of slices of Brie (not melted, which I think did it a disservice), and some pear slices. I believe it also had a mustard like spread on it as well but the bread was so low quality/old/dry that it didn’t do anything for it. Our side options were potato chips or potato salad. The potato chips were like the .99 cent bag you get at the convenience store. The potato salad was okay. Definitely not worth $18. To be honest, I would pay more than $18 if they improved their quality but this was just pathetic. I could have gotten a better sandwich from the deli at Zehrs. We considered getting a second dinner.
The service needs some work as well. The middle aged woman working was passive aggressive and condescending towards the other server and the kitchen (our sides got mixed up). She also made remarks to us about another guest, which I felt were unnecessary.
The only thing going for this place is their patio view and the fact that they have live music on Fridays from 5-8. If you’re going for a drink and a view, maybe. At that point though, I would just go to Stillwaters or Cobblestone (if they had their patio open for...
Read moreMy wife and I love going to Paris for dinner and decided to go for lunch yesterday. We decided to try 2 Rivers. We walked in and were told that it would be 10 minutes for a table. No problem. Less than 10 minutes the lady, I am assuming she's the owner came over and handed us our cutlery and menus and told us to go to table 7. I thought that was a little strange. Our order was taken soon after, I opted to the baked black Forest ham and Swiss cheese with kettle chips and my wife had baked chicken and brie with a salad. We also ordered two pints of Four Father's light lager... The best part of the meal. They brought our food and I was very disappointed. I got a small handful potato chips, I probably would have got more in a Halloween sized chip and a very small sandwich. The sandwich was ok, nothing to get excited about. My wife had a small salad on her plate, which was about the same amount as my chips... No one came to see how everything was, no one asked us if we would like another drink. Very poor customer service, in fact the lady that gave us our utensils and menus, asked the table behind us if they could leave as there were other people waiting for a table. The person was still drinking her wine... I was kinda shocked at that. Bottom line is that this place is subpar restaurant that is lacking in staff and owner that have any kind of hospitality skills. The prices do not match the portions served. Very disappointed. Will not be trying them again......
Read moreMy very good friend Carol and I decided to go to Paris, Ontario for lunch then look around in shops. We live in the Niagara Region and always love to pick a different area for lunch every time we go out. Paris is a lovely town, nice restaurants, high end clothing stores, shops, cafes etc. 🚙👍🏻😃🩷🩵🥗🥪🌯🌊☕️
We decided on 2Rivers Restaurant on the Main Street, Grand River Street, North for lunch.
Very quaint restaurant nicely decorated. We were seated at the back overlooking 2 patios and the Grand River which is beautiful.
I ordered a Goat Veggie Burger: Veggie Patty topped with Portobello Mushrooms, Goat Cheese & Red Peppers with a Caesar Salad without bacon bits.
It was not good. The veggie patty was meh, one small portion was overdone, portobello mushroom was ok, goat cheese noooo, the bun 😳😳😳😳😳was very very soggy, red peppers nice. Caesar salad was nice. We waited quite a while for our lunch, no big deal.
My Caesar cocktail was the worst I’ve ever had.
Carol had a wrap and a side she liked hers.
Needless to say we...
