Ivy nails & spa — Attraction in Parksville

Service was well below average. Called ahead to book 2 manicures and 1 toe polish. Inquired when I arrived if they had a matching chrome colour to match my current nails. They said they did. After removing my nail colour they proceeded to show me the chrome which was in fact not chrome but sparkles (I’ve been to many salons and this is not chrome). I asked if I could try it on one finger and she and another worker fussed about that. When she put it on it was clearly not chrome as I mentioned prior, though she insisted. I understand if you don’t have a colour that matches but if you did not, I rather not be mislead. During my service the employee wiped her nose with her hand twice then reached for my hand. After the second time I was disgusted and had to ask her to please clean her hands before touching my hands. I chose another nail colour based on their samples. She polished my nails with that colour which resulted in a completely different colour. Clearly their samples aren’t matching the actual colour thus very misleading. Near the end of the service she informed me that she cannot do a manicure and that she only has time for a mini manicure. Why would they schedule us in for a service they cannot complete?? She did not even complete a full manicure. On top of all of this I came with my grandmother and they were incredibly impatient with her as I helped her choose a colour. I 100% do not recommend this place, I’m Honeslty shocked that there are not any bad reviews! I went with my roomate the staff were kind of rude when we got there and were rushing I booked a set of gel nails for both of us. Their page says it’s 75$ for gel nails I got a pretty basic design and some how it became 160$ Before tip, it took 2 hours for her to finish my nails. Anywhere else it would have not been more than 115$ at the most and only 45min- 1 hour. I went out for a smoke break and the girl told my roomate that she asks people if they get a full and if they don’t she gives them less durable nails. All of my roomates nails broke off within a few days of having them even though I paid over 100$ for her set. My nails were not prepped properly AT ALL. My nails broke off and were bleeding, another one broke off just now so far down the nail I almost lost an entire real nail off my finger it hurts so bad. Do not go to this place. I will NEVER...

Experienced the salon approximately 8 times - at first had a great experience with owner but after requesting to book with her again got a different rep several times, with never the same professionalism or expertise. I’ve found a few techs are either very new or not as experienced for the price. Higher priced then area/expertise previously experienced. When paying for full acrylic nails mentioning for a wedding and booking over 1.5 weeks in advance it wasn’t was expected and had to ask for what I called in advance for. Less then a week later a nail snapped off easily so I came back for a full pedicure paid for and requested it to get fixed. They stated I have to pay 7$ after I had already said it was my birthday the day of and do they offer and specials for my special day.
