I called and booked a mid week package that was use of the pool for an hour, 60 min facial with eye treatment and lunch at the restaurant for 145$. I received a call a few days later stating the restaurant would be closed Sunday, Monday going forward so they could not offer the lunch that was included in the package. My options were to rebook at a different date (i work in the oilfield out of town for 4-5 weeks at a time so i had no other days available) or i could come still but not have lunch for a 20$ discount. I was completely fine with that option. The woman on the phone then informed me that because it is no longer a pkg, the pool and eye treatment wasn't included anymore (but no other discount offered). I argued that it was no longer a package because the spa is unable to accommodate lunch and that the rest of the pkg should be honored still at a lower rate. She kind of chuckled on the phone and said "well, we will let you use the pool" This was a rude way of saying it and also said they would give me the eye treatment at a discounted rate. Now, the cost of the eye treatment isn't the issue, If you offer a package online and cannot fulfill that pkg after it has been booked, you should still honor everything included. She kept saying it wasn't her fault and it was the restaurant. I eventually got frustrated and tired of the woman on the phone cutting me off, talking over me and not listening so I just canceled. I then gave them the opportunity to right their wrong by reaching out my concerns on Facebook messenger and was offered even less options which was pay the 145$ and they will give me the eye treatments. This was absolutely ridiculous as the eye treatments were included in the pkg in the first place. I will definitely not being coming here again, this is poor customer service and i will be taking my business elsewhere, which is unfortunate because i had a wonderful stay for my birthday with my fiancé last year and the main reason i was rebooking for...
Read moreI want to preface this review by saying that nothing about my experience was bad, but it also wasn’t amazing. I called same-day to book a treatment and was pleasantly surprised they were able to fit me in for a massage—that was great. Tigh-Na-Mara was fully booked, and I was just looking for a relaxing spa escape during a long weekend at a friend’s house on the Island.
The massage itself was just okay. I knew going in that they weren’t RMTs, so I kept my expectations relatively low, but I was still hoping for a great spa-style massage. Unfortunately, the service felt rushed and a bit disjointed. In my opinion, a good massage should have a sense of flow and harmony—this one didn’t quite deliver. Some of the movements even felt a little awkward.
That said, the foot massage portion was actually very good—even though I don’t usually enjoy foot massages. The spa itself was clean, and I’d imagine they probably do a better job with treatments like facials or body wraps. I was hoping to try a Seaflora wrap but didn’t get the chance.
Overall, I still think this spa is worth a visit if you’re in the area, but maybe consider booking something other...
Read moreThis is a beautiful spot tucked into the Beach Club Resort in Parksville. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by not only staff, but the ambiance and lovely fragrance of sweet soft aromas. My mother and I booked 75 minute massages and when I tell you we both left in agreement that this was the best massage either one of us has ever had. From the heated bed to the luxurious oils....the beautiful decor and comfortable atmosphere the stage was set. The two staff that provided our treatments were incredible at their jobs...leaving no knot undone! In comparing stories afterward we were both gushing about how good we both felt....how well we had been taken care of. It is hours later and I am still feeling lighter than I have in a long time. You MUST visit this spa. You MUST!...
