So often, I find there are more craft artisans at farmers markets than farmers, not true here! There are lots of farmers, home preservers and bakers. There are also some food trucks if you want something hot. Most of the vendors were engaging and those that could offered samples. There is fresh bread that is to die for and (best of all) wine samples! How wonderful to be able to buy all your fresh foods for a spectacular dinner and bring home the wine it pairs with! Fun fact: the coffee is served in good old ceramic mugs. Wander with your fresh coffer and then just drop your mug in the bins provided at the entrance. If not, them you need to get out of the cave and get downtown on a Saturday one morning next summer! One of my favourite summer activities is heading down and having a Chiropan for breakfast (I long for them all winter until the market starts up again). Read moreProbably one of the most visited farmer's markets in the Okanagan Valley. We live in Penticton and have been coming to the market for almost 20 yrs. It's grown since substantially in that time, adding the craft market as well. I enjoy wandering past the stalls, purchasing something from the artisan bakery, then a drink like coffee or tea, and that sets the tone for me. My wife used to come here every few weeks to buy artisan bread - that baker has left the market in the last few years - vendors may come and go but this market continues charming people year after year.
