My family and I stayed for one night in July 2025. Our stay exceeded our expectations. (I write this as the husband to a daughter of a motel and bar owner (ret.), so it'd be hard NOT to have some 2nd hand experience in how a motel ought to be operated). This is why:
The People. The two behind the counter are amazing people. I spoke at length with Teagan upon arrival, and again with Emma in the morning before I left. Great characters, honest, hard working, no BS people. Be nice to them and clean up after yourselves! 😝
The Beds. We stayed in a 2 room suite upstairs, and the beds were fantastic! Super comfortable and soft (but not too soft) and clean! My family and I are travelers, and have stayed at many different kinds and styles of places all over. These beds would rank in my top 15%. Hey, I'm a big guy. Beds are important to me.
Clean. The place was clean. And wifey grew up in a family run motel. She checks. Everything. Every. Time. Hardwood floors in the suite, great idea! It's a pet friendly place and it didn't smell like dog ✅️. We have dogs and wouldn't have minded if it did, but it didn't. The motel is right across the street from a beach, so their clientele are mostly young families and the party crowd. Not the tidiest bunch! I wasn't expecting spotless. But it came close.
(Nothing to do with clean, but I wanted to say how quiet it was. I'm a light sleeper, and I wasn't woken once. I don't know if this is normal, but thought it deserved a mention).
Location: Right across the street from a ramp that leads down to the beach. Or go left or go right and great eats, treats, and drinks, all right there.
Complaints: I didn't care for the verticle blinds in the room. They felt cheap, let light in, and moved to the air of the ceiling fan. And the a/c was only in common area with ceiling fans in the rooms, so when hot, you need to keep the doors open. But it was milder that night and actually got chilly during the night, so not much of a complaint at all).
We didn't check out the pool, but we will be back, and for longer next time. Thanks for the great stay! You guys deserve...

We’ve been coming to Tiki Shores for several years, but this will definitely be our last visit! Our experience this time was nothing short of frustrating. From the time of booking last year, two out of our three reservations were mishandled. Despite multiple requests to speak with a manager, we were continually brushed off by Emma at the front desk — who we later learned is actually the manager, yet neglected to inform us. Rather than addressing our concerns professionally, she sent us generic email addresses to forward our complaints. She even went as far as telling other staff members that they were not allowed to provide us with the manager’s contact information. She then informed us at checkout that the manager did not want to speak to us regarding the issues we encountered during our stay.
It’s obvious the new management company running this motel has not invested in their staff or guest experience. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of critical thinking displayed by management was shocking. After speaking with the General Manager of the motels, it’s quite apparent that any future issues that arise will be handled in an unprofessional manner with little to no regard for customer satisfaction.
To make matters worse, the rooms were subpar at best — stains on couch upholstery, broken, and lack of towels, just to name a few issues.
Upon speaking to other guests at the pool, we discovered that several other people had experienced various issues or were deeply disappointed with the way the motel was being run under new ownership and management.
Tiki Shores used to be a dependable spot, but things have clearly gone downhill. We won’t be back. Save yourself any disappointment, and book elsewhere, trust me! Unfortunately, Spanish Villa, The Bowmont, and Shoreline Resort are all also under ownership/management with Roadside Hospitality so sadly I expect they will also potentially take a...
Read moreI am giving our stay 2 stars. A whole bunch of little things were not up to par with our room.
First the vertical blinds are horrible. Our living room blinds were missing 2 slats and other slats were twisted out of alignment resulting in no privacy in our ground level suite. Also vertical blinds are a horrible choice for the bedroom because they let in too much light.
The mattress cover was old and stretched out. It kept coming off the mattress and taking the flat mattress sheet with it. A fitted sheet would be better on the mattress. It was really uncomfortable laying on a wrinkled loose sheet.
I was not expecting every little thing to be new but I was expecting everything to be clean. Our room was dirty. I do not blame housekeeping. I blame the owner. Our room was in need of a really good deep cleaning. There was black mold/mildew in the grout and caulking around the bathtub. The bathtub surround needs to be bleached and recaulked. The painted bathroom walls had water stains and need a good wash.
The utensils in our kitchenette were exceptionally cheap and sparse to the point of being non-functional. We were paying $200.00 per night. Is it too much ask to have a spatula that does not bend like a yogi? Also an irritant was the choice to not supply paper towels. It is...
