happy tummies and satisfied palates at @katsu_heaven !
▪︎ mine: • Katsu (Pork Loin) on Stir-fried Yakisoba Noodle - 9/10 • Mango Avocado Roll - 7/10 • Peachade - 10/10 ▪︎ dadda's: • Katsu (Chicken) with Japanese Curry on Rice - 9/10 • Negitoro Roll (Tuna Belly with Green Onion) - 7/10 ▪︎ Xander's: Mild Dumpling Ramen - 10/10 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ presentation was a winner, all our Katsu meals and bubb's ramen were definitely satisfying.. the sushi rolls could use some oomph though, 'cause the rolls kept splitting and i think we expected too much of them too, even if they're not the main menu.. but overall a great Japanese place to have in town!
when we went there it was the first day after their launch so it was SO busy, and the wait to get in was almost 30 minutes, and to get seated was about 10-15 more, but the wait for the food which was less was actually super worth it 😗👌 2nd time we went there was faster definitely! the candies after were a good touch too!
Update: 07/30/23 ▪︎Baby Octopus Takoyaki - 9.5/10 my craving for Takoyaki is satisfied 😌 dadda tried it first, and was impressed even if he doesn't normally eat takoyaki! He described its good smooth texture, with chunky bits (which is the 🐙).. i do miss the variety of flavors i used to get from our usual place in Ph 🥺 ▪︎Deep Fried Potato Croquette (on the house! 🥰) - 8.5/10 Katsu Heaven was so sweet! And we definitely liked these croquettes, nicely fried, soft and smooth too! Though we have high standards for croquettes since our abu makes the best ones hehe ▪︎mine: Katsu (Pork Loin) with Japanese Curry on Udon noodles - 9/10 my new fave! LOVE the udon, so missed having udon 🥲 This was so soft yet firm, and so fresh tasting.. i can eat even just the udon all day 😁 ▪︎dadda's and bubba's: their uzh, Katsu with Japanese Curry on Rice, but Pork Loin this time (not pictured) - 8/10 for the dad, 10 for the bubb both boys are happy with their meals! dadda said he still favors Chicken Katsu though ▪︎my drink, my uzh too, Peachade 🍑 - 10/10 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ went there just an hour before they close, and we were their last customers.. felt so nice to have a delicious cosy evening...

When I first entered this place, I was immediately impressed by the elegant and sophisticated interior. It felt like stepping into a stylish restaurant in a major city. The decor was modern, refined, and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The server who assisted us was extremely kind, friendly, and attentive. They explained the menu items with care, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
My wife and I ordered the pan-fried dumplings, pork cutlet, and cheese cutlet. Among these, the dumplings were truly the best I’ve had in Canada. Unlike many places that use frozen dumplings deep-fried in oil, these were carefully pan-fried to achieve a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness, with a subtle smoky flavor that elevated the dish. Absolutely delicious.
The pork and cheese cutlets also stood out. It seemed like the chef used freshly ground breadcrumbs made from bread instead of store-bought ones. The texture was just right—not too coarse, not too fine—and even after some time, the crispiness was still there. It showed that the chef truly has a talent for frying.
The accompanying salad was delightful, with finely shredded cabbage adding a fresh crunch and a tasty dressing that complemented the meal well. Even the decorative kale leaf was thoughtfully placed and added to the overall presentation.
If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be to include a couple of pieces of pickled radish (danmuji) to enjoy with the rice.
All in all, it was a very satisfying dining experience. We felt so happy to have discovered such a high-quality restaurant here in Canada. This is definitely a place we would love to visit again, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an...
Read moreIn response to the owner’s reply (see photo) and for fairness since the reply option seems off - Yes they did. Its reasonable for our friends’ family (even to us and the rest of the group) that they wait, stay and eat. They have 3 kids and 2 seniors with them. It has nothing to do with what happened when we were at your place the first time.
We tried to eat at Katsu Heaven last sunday, Mar 30th with our friends. A group of 17 including kids. One of our friends called to ask for reservations but the person who answered said that there is no need. We arrived together and seeing that we could not be seated together, we opted to have different tables. At our table, we were informed by a staff that since there is only one chef that day, our orders will take long - almost an hour each table, which is totally fine with us. One staff was already ready to take our orders but we were informed later that since our group is big they cannot accommodate us. We even went up to the cashier to order and inform the staff that we are willing to wait but still got the same response - we can’t be accommodated. While we are at the restaurant discussing where we should eat, we see customers coming in and seating on the table we used to occupy. If there is a concern about getting big orders, they should have not accommodate other customers coming in after us. And that is why we left. We hope that this feedback clarifies...
