Worst customer service i’ve ever seen in my entire lifetime. Me and my friend came around 6pm today (7th April) and stayed for about 2 hours or so. There were two servers working in the evening today and the younger one of them served us. When i asked her if she can explain a menu item to me, she replied “okay, so you want that” i told her i’m just asking what exactly is that dish. she literally spoke the name of it and after requesting almost twice that if she could explain more, she had an angry look on her face while she explained it. The server would literally throw our order at the table. It was the first time we went there and my friend was super embarrassed that he took me to that restaurant because i came to penticton to visit him. The food was pretty decent but unfortunately the service was terrible. I think the owner or the management really needs to look after their staff’s dealing with the customer. It seemed a pretty good restaurant to me and i’m sure it must have a good reputation too but a single staff member with that kind of attitude can ruin the whole experience. I myself work for a customer service position and i’d do anything to go above and beyond the expectations of our customers and i know that if someone’s using their hard earned money atleast they expect you to be nice to them. She works there by choice, and not by force. She really needs some good training regarding customer service etiquettes else probably she should quit working there and help the restaurant keep its reputation. Our order totalled around $74. Even after being served like that, my friend still added a $5 tip for her assuming she might have had a bad day or something. The other server did made our experience a lot better by wrapping up our leftover lasagna in a to-go box. Our server didn’t even cared to do that even when we stopped eating and that we literally waited for her to stop by when she kept passing by us, ignoring even our hand gestures for help. We won’t be back but i really hope that no other customers get to experience this. Management please respond to...
Read moreI recently dined at the Pasta Factory, and while I had hoped for a memorable experience, unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Dining out should be a special occasion, but the service and atmosphere left much to be desired.
Upon entering, I noticed a sign asking guests to wait to be seated. I patiently waited for about five minutes before a waitress approached. Instead of a warm greeting, she abruptly asked, “What do you want?” which immediately made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a welcomed guest. I requested a table for one and was initially led to a tall table. When I politely asked for a normal-sized table instead, her visible frustration was discouraging. She did accommodate my request, seating me at a table at the back of the restaurant, but the interaction set a negative tone for the meal.
I ordered a large Caesar salad, which arrived about 10 minutes later. While the food itself was decent, the service lacked the warmth and attentiveness that can elevate a dining experience. After my meal was served, no one checked in to see if everything was okay or if I needed anything else. This lack of engagement made the experience feel impersonal and rushed.
I also noticed that the rest of the staff seemed similarly disengaged, which made me wonder if this is part of the restaurant’s culture or if there’s a need for a refresher on customer service etiquette. Friendly and attentive staff can make a significant difference in how enjoyable a meal feels, and unfortunately, that element was missing here.
Overall, I would rate my experience 2 out of 5 stars. While the food was acceptable, the service and atmosphere didn’t meet the standards I expect when dining out. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve, as I believe small changes in attitude and attentiveness could make a big difference for...
Read moreThe pasta always slaps here. The portions are huge! The only thing I’d flag is the service. The lady that sat us on the evening of May 29th probably needs a refresher on customer service. We came in with a stroller and she sat us in the area where we had to take the stairs. But the woman with a child before us with no stroller was sat at the level where you don’t need to take the stairs. And that area had 2 other tables empty.
Anyway, we took the table she gave us and I ASKED her if we can leave the stroller parked before the stairs where it’s not obstructing anyone by the fish tank.
She said no, so my husband lifted the stroller up the stairs where she told us to park it. We thought that was the end of it, we got our served about 10 minutes after sitting (quite a long time for a restaurant this size with plenty of servers around) and it was dead in there.
The lady that sat us came back to say that we cannot park the stroller where we originally had asked to park it. We don’t understand why she had to go back to tell us when we didn’t even park it there in the first place since my husband carried the stroller up the stairs to where she said to park it. Such an odd thing to do.
Not sure if she’s picking at us because we’re the only Asians dining there at that time and think she can boss us around and nit pick us for whatever...
