This park is beautiful! It is a fantastic park to take kids to, walk around, exercise in or just stroll. It s large and diverse enough to keep a person interested for some time.

It has an ice rink arena, a soccer field with astroturf, a baseball diamond with real turf, a small softball diamond with real turf, a skate park, a fenced-in dog park, a theatre, a work-out trail (self-guided excecises), lots of paths, a petting zoo, a spray/water park, and tons of picnic tables spread throughout.

The east side of the park is bright and a bit noisy as it follows HWY 1A but the rest of the park is quiet and peaceful, especially early mornings and late aftenoons. Dogs must be leashed in the park, except at the dog park which is a decent size and nestles nicely against a small hill within rhe park on the nort- west side.

The park has an eclectic mix of buildings within it, from the small Theatre which runs about 6 plays per season to the large Ice Arena to the petting Zoo facility. The architecture goes from circa 1920s to early 2000's.

There is a road that runs down the middle of it to allow parks utilities and police vehicles easy access. As you move from area to area, following this road within the park, you see the original stone gate posts which add a touch of nostalgia to the park.

The old-growth trees in this park are beautiful and majestic. They stand tall and straight and gently sway from side to side in the wind, adding just the right amount of mystery to the park's wooded areas. While at the east end of the park, along 1st Street, you get to smell the park's sweet aromas while strolling alongside heritage homes and...

While most reviews are based on the park’s nature views and “walk ability”, I thought I would point out the sporting nature of the park. First though the positive reviews already posted about the park are spot on. As well though, you can see some excellent hockey games and indoor sporting events in the arena, and see lacrosse games on the field.

What a great place for a stroll on a warm Spring morning! There are lots of things to do in this 75 acre park, but I was there for part of a walk from the hospital, then down along the river. Steep (but not too steep) from the McBride Avenue overpass, passing walking and biking trails, an off-leash dog park, and public washrooms. Stopped on one of the many benches to enjoy some of the many flower beds and trees along the way. A great place to walk for locals and tourists alike.

I very much enjoy a long walk, starting at Queen's Park, on through downtown and along the Quay. I was surprised to find the park virtually deserted on my first long walk of the new year. As my photos show, the band shell, play area, tennis courts and baseball field were all empty. What a great opportunity to stroll at one's own pace and enjoy the...

Great park with many different activities. A perfect collection ranging from turf soccer field, grass baseball stadium, indoor lacrosse/rink, tennis courts, rose garden that can be rented out for weddings, water park, plenty of barbecue and picnic tables, and through the year many city sponsored activities. Occasionally the parking lots will be jammed with film production trucks and the area tends to be a familiar spot for fliming, although have yet to ever bump into any famous actors. There is a nicely paved path that circles the entire park, and nicely enclosed dog off leash area - with a separate section for small dogs. There is water during spring to fall at the off leash, and turned off during winter. The dog off leash is usually visited with well behaved owners. Occasionally there is a nuisance dog and errant owner that will not pick up after their dogs, but mostly dogs are pretty good. Usually smaller dogs should have no problem on either side, but lately some owners with big dogs seem to be less attentive to their dog's...

They need to start FINING all the people with off leash dogs. This is not an offleash area. There is a park for that. As a dog owner if this isnt something you understand then you shouldnt have a dog. It is irresponsible Update. See photo : august 2023 This person took their dog off leash right infront of me and my dogs. They clearly saw me first too as I purposely got out of their way just a moment before since we were about to cross paths. This is NOT an offleash area. People NEED TO BE FINED. See photo. Could have at least have the decency to get further away from me. It does not matter how well trained your dog may be. This is not an offleash area. 08/30/23 Second update. Two dogs off leash in the middle of the complexes near the roundabout across from the skatepark and lacrosse field. Owner was holding one of their dogs to keep away from another dog on leash and still didnt leash after that interaction. Photo taken right afterward. Should be fined x2.
