So this is a review of the attached Steveston Judo Club. Basically, everyone there is great until you meet the head coach Ron Kuramoto. He is basically Napoleon but in the Japanese form. He is very insecure and make rude remarks to have you leave the club. Of course, he masks all of this unethical behavior behind a pretense of protecting the club and his 'kids'. Basically, he has a big chip on his shoulders and wont even shake your hand if he dislikes you. He will dislike anyone that is masculine or well built because you will make him feel insignificant. Yes, he has personality disorders and it is affecting the club. The guy is a 90 pound bully that never reconciled his childhood issues back when he was a youth. It is truly bizarre behavior to watch. Do you want your kids exposed to this guy? Do you want your kids to think this is the behavior they can engage in as adults? I think not. Ron should really seek some therapy for his issues. I recommend that your kids keep away from this place. Most of the members go to the burnaby club anyways. I guess Ron's glass castle is falling apart despite the photos they post up on the few events that do take place. YOU have...
Read moreThe Steveston Community Centre is a fantastic facility for residents of the area. The center offers a wide range of activities and programs for all ages, from youth sports to fitness classes to cultural events. Read moremy favorite in Richmond. The only thing I dont like is programs interesting for seniors and people with chronic pain are only scheduled in realy early Mostly morning. when I asked why they answered most people 50+ dont go out their house later. I seriously doubt they made a real survey about this. my point is many of us are still working and anyway even for thoses who doesn't : when you get senior you had to wake up early all your life to go to school, then raise children and work for over half century in your life. I think we deserve the right to b able to sleep late in morning and take it easy. Also many of us have chronic pain and sleep issues so we need often to catch up on sleep in mornings. So its end up that many of us can never participate to Centre activities that we like because of those early schedules. I would really appreciate if at least some of seniors activities got late afternoon or evening schedules so those who are still working or got those pain/sleep issues can participate. we pay taxes and are part of the Richmondites community as any...
