Wicked cool and is absolutely representative of the steveston area. For those that don't know steveston is heavily tied with japanese fisherman and war history. Take a look if you have time and this store represents this. It has cool asian-pacific works of art and accessories. It has cards, pens, wallets, antiques, just cool indiegogo kickstarter style items. When I travel I look for places like this. I wouldn't say anything is overpriced but it is definitely in the $$$ category. We got a cute jellyfish puzzle and it's been weeks and we haven't finished yet. Fun covid! I want the store owner to design my home if she could.

i was visiting this store while in the wharf village and it’s such a minimalistic yet whimsical sort of store and i enjoyed my entire experience here. the curated selection of items really fits into that category of like small upscale luxuries that really elevate a small aspect of your life. this store introduced me to many new brands i’ve never heard of and i think pricing wise, is very fair (and actually less than what i would normally get it for from where i’m from). i would def recommend stopping by if you’re visiting the wharf village in general!

One of the best store for stationery and tea lovers in the Lower Mainland. Fountain pen, notebook, writing paper, greeting cards, journals, inks and much more can be find in the store. Great store for picking up a smart gift for family and friends. Owner are very knowladgeble and very helpful, and their dog are friendly and playful. Buying Midori paper, Traveller's Notebook, fountain pens from here for few years now. Remember to sign up for their membership program so you can get cash rewards from all your purchases.

This has been my go-to destination for birthday and Christmas shopping for the last 13 years. They have a good selection of gifts ranging from beauty products to stationery, kitchen items, teas and more. The reason I'm giving them a poor rating is because for the fourth consecutive time I've tried to shop there they were closed despite the hours posted on the door and online showing they should be open. This time, like past times, there were a few people standing outside and looking confused, as was I. Others told me this was a common occurrence in the past, for staff to open late. If this were a one-off incident and there was a good reason for the delay I would not have said anything. But this is now the fourth time in a row that I arrived approximately 20 minutes after opening time to find the doors locked and no sign of any staff. I find it incredibly rude and unprofessional to advertise that you are open, have your loyal customers travel a fair distance as I did, only to find that whomever is working couldn't be bothered to show up on time. Sadly, I'll be shopping elsewhere...

Obsessed with Nikaido’s home and body care scent collections because I’ve never found the same brands anywhere else in the lower mainland. When I drink their teas, everyone asks me where I got it and I’ve brought Nikaido for multiple people on their request. What really got me HOOKED was their stationary collection. It’s an understatement to say they have every pen and speciality paper you could ever want and you’re able to TRY THEM. I got into fountain pens and ink collections at this store and I have no regrets. They even carry nice cards to write and send with my new beautiful inks.

This store is truly a beautiful masterpiece of curation and everyone who works there feels like they were hired for their passion and love of the curated goods. I could and have spend hours in there and gladly tell them to take me money...

Like a shop out of a more gentile time, where moments were primary and the revelations of a well stocked shelf a marvel. Nikaido is an exceptionally well curated shop for the design lover and nesting enthusiast alike. While it carries such beautiful stationary and Japanese/Scandinavian goods as to impress even the most high end palette, it remains accessible to all who love beauty through the candles, scents, and general curiosities that abound through the store - a special dynamic, for too often well designed goods can be presented in an elitist manner, their beauty rendered inaccessible. Nikaido, with its personable, warm staff and curio packed presentation keeps itself from being too stuffy, instead proving to be an inviting space for all who love beauty to enjoy with an open heart. An...
