We've ridden with James from Ride BC the past 3 years we've visited Squamish. If you aren't from the area, you can't do these slab trails justice by showing up and riding blind from Trailforks. James is an excellent coach and guide who will bring you on awesome trails (both the famous ones and off the map) and teach you how to ride them safely and, eventually, with confidence. This will allow you to ride the trails properly and do much more than you could have done safely alone. I have left each year a much better rider. The bottom line is you shouldn't ride Squamish for the first time without a guide, and James at Ride BC is one of the best. Plus, he's a nice guy that builds trails and will give you good recommendations for food and cool places to ride once your guided tour is done.

I had a stellar trip with Ride BC out on the trails in Squamish, BC in late April! Coordinating was easy--I just emailed back and forth with James on when/where to meet and what kind of riding I was looking for. The ride was perfectly routed and paced for my ability. I was able to convene the types of riding and trails I currently rode and they were easily able to find the most appropriate trails for me. During the ride, I was also given expert insight and advice to improve my riding. I was hesitant on riding slabs performing rock rolls, but with some expert demonstration and a little coaching I was able to nail some previous features I chickened out on before. To top it off, Ride BC even got a great photo/video of me! Thank you for the memories. 100% Recommended!

James is a great guide and knows Squamish and surrounding areas really well. I'm an intermediate rider with some learning to do and James put together a great ride that was both challenging and fun. It's definitely useful to have a guide like James show you the trails for the first time at a place like Squamish where there is such variety and especially if you have limited time so you aren't hunting around for trails that match your riding ability. In addition I was late coming in from the border and my conditioning wasn't great so really slowed down near the end of the ride. James was flexible and generous with his time and considerate about my condition. I highly recommend James and Ridebc if you are in Squamish!

I have had a lot of fun mountain biking experiences but my day to show me the trails around Squamish was the best ride day, ever. I met the owner of Ride BC, James and my guide Jeremy and they figured out a day based on what my goals were for the day. Jeremy was great at assessing my abilities and leading me into progression on the trails that I was comfortable with and could have fun with. All the while, leading me through the beautiful forest that is as pleasurable to be riding through as the trail riding. Jeremy’s no slouch. I’m 67 years old and rode an ebike. Jeremy was totally under his own power and we covered 20 miles in the woods. He had plans for more sport after we were done. So helpful to have received this intro to the area so I can feel comfortable showing up to ride on my own in the future. Though there are probably more than a few competent people doing what these guys offer, I don’t think you are going to find any better. Follow up day with James: Set up another ride day when friends were visiting the end of August. James took care of us for the day. I wanted my Friends to be able to ride fun trails in both Alice Lake and Diamond Head. James knows his way around really well and was able to fit that in for our time and showed us a really fun bunch of trails in what are the most beautiful woods I have ever seen. James is a really great coach, too. He had one of my friends riding stuff that she or I had no idea she was capable of. I learned a lot myself by being there for it as well. The day was an even better experience by being there with people I know to share in it. Grab some...

My husband and I had a fantastic time doing a guided tour with James! We're relative newcomers to mountain biking, and James picked out the perfect sequence of trails for us to get comfortable early and then start testing ourselves on a bit more challenging terrain. Thankfully, he's also a great coach; his guidance meant we both improved during the course of our ride and feel ready to practice more of what he showed us on our home trails. Beyond his obvious biking skills, we loved touring with James because he is so passionate and contributes so much to the development of the trail network - so many other riders we passed knew him (felt like we were with a local celebrity) and we got the inside story of many trails - some of which he built himself. He also gave some great recommendations for other activities in Squamish on our trip - we owe a big part of our itinerary to him! We would definitely book again with RideBC - hoping this trip to Squamish isn't our last! (I would include pictures because the scenery was awesome, but we honestly were too wrapped up with...

EXCELLENT experience, James is an amazing guide and great rider. On top of that, he knows every nook and cranny of the trails in Squamish, BC. Follow James for an awesome ride as he leads you through the town's best trails, helping you along the way by showing you the best lines to take.

Great for all skill levels, James does a fantastic job assessing your abilities and crafting a ride to match your skill level.

Not only is he a great guide, he's a great guy in that he gives back to the community by creating and building new trails.

If you're looking for an awesome half day or full day touring Squamish's trails, James is your guy.

Also, super nice bike (well-maintained and cared for) to get you through Squamish's gnarliest terrain.

Overall, 10/10 experience. You also get to leave with a nice photo to show your friends and family! Only thing is I wish I did the full day!

I will be back and plan on connecting with James again!

Definitely try it out when in town, you won't be disappointed. Ear to ear smile the...
