Blue Mountain Village – A Hub of Culture and Comfort

At the heart of Blue Mountain lies its charming pedestrian village, a lively area filled with boutique shops, restaurants, and year-round entertainment. The village is designed to resemble a European-style ski town, with beautiful architecture, cobblestone walkways, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. When the snow melts, Blue Mountain transforms into a summer paradise. The mountain biking trails are a thrill for adventure seekers, while the scenic gondola ride offers breathtaking views of Georgian Bay. Amazing Family Adventure at Blue Mountain Resort!

We had a fantastic day at Blue Mountain Resort, especially for our kids aged 7-16. There are so many activities to keep them entertained!

Parking Tip: Park at the Blue Mountain P1 South lot for free! It's about a 15-minute walk from the village. All other lots nearby were packed and paid.

Top Attractions: Ridge Runner: The most popular ride—be ready for a thrilling roller coaster experience through the woods. Totally worth the wait! Timber Challenge: A perfect bonding activity with the kids. Canopy Climb: Super fun to do with the kids. It's a great mix of challenge and excitement! Cascade Golf Course: Though overcrowded, it was still an entertaining and lively spot to unwind with the family. Lumber Lanes Climbing: Perfect for smaller kids to test their climbing skills. An amazing experience for them! Skywalk Challenge: For those who love obstacle courses but prefer to stay out of the woods. Open-Air Gondola: Stunning views of the mountains, which are completely different in summer than in winter.

Rest & Relaxation: We found an amazing bar with the best view at the top of Gondola ride! It’s a fantastic spot to relax with a drink or snack, enjoying the breeze while soaking in the scenery—very relaxing and enjoyable.

Things to Know: Plan your trip upfront and arrive early. We started our day at 2:30 PM and weren’t able to cover all the attractions before closing at 9 PM. Many activities require kids aged 5-12 to be accompanied by an adult or someone 16+. However, kids aged 13+ can go solo on most attractions. Get a Play All Day Pass for at least one adult so your kids can enjoy the attractions. We had to upgrade ours on the spot, which wasted about an hour in line. Guest services didn’t mention this upfront!

Pricing Tip: We purchased 2 Explore All Day passes and 2 Play All Day passes for the kids. We then had to upgrade one Explore All Day pass to a Play All Day adult pass to access age-restricted attractions with the kids. Altogether, we spent $260 on tickets alone—not including extras like food, drinks, and souvenirs. Be prepared for kids to try to talk you into extras throughout the day. 😉

Time Management: Most attractions close by 7-7:30 PM, so don't leave activities like climbing, zip-lining, or visiting the Coca-Cola Mill Pond until the last minute! The Ridge Runner, though, operates until 9 PM.

Important: The Private Beach is about 8 km away from the resort, so driving there is a must (9 minutes).

Overall, whether you're going solo or with family, there's something for everyone. It’s a perfect escape from the city noise, even for just a day....

I paid almost $70 (after tax) for a Play All Day ticket. According to Blue Mountain's website, the Play All Day ticket gives access to skating, tubing, snowshoeing, an aquatic center, canopy climb net adventure, and a mountain coaster. However, on the day that I went to use my Play All Day ticket, the staff told me that the canopy climb net adventure was no longer available for the season and the mountain coaster was out of service for the entire day because it was snowing. I don't think it's fair that Blue Mountain charged me full price for the Play All Day ticket without informing me beforehand that only 4 out of the 6 activities were available. It's ok that the mountain coaster was temporarily closed due to safety concerns related to the weather, but Blue Mountain should have given me a partial refund.

Even though the Play All Day ticket gives you access to snowshoeing, you still have to pay an additional $10 to rent a pair of snowshoes. The snowshoes that my friends and I rented were not well maintained and did not strap in properly, so as we were walking the snowshoes kept sliding off and it was difficult to get through the trail because we had to constantly stop to readjust our straps.

On top of that, my friends and I each paid $12 to rent skates. The skate rental house had only 2 staff members and they were very disorganized, so we waited over 20 minutes before we finally got our skates. Some of my friends' skates did not fit properly, so part way through the skating trail they had to go back to the rental house to change skates.

The Play All Day ticket can only be used for 1 day between 12pm-8pm, which sounds like plenty of hours but it is not enough time for all of the activities. My friends and I experienced so many delays from constantly stopping to readjust our snowshoe straps, going back to the skating rental house to switch skates, etc. plus the skating trail is located 30 minutes away from the rest of the Play All Day activities. So in the end my friends and I did not have enough time to go to the aquatic center and we only had enough time to go down the tubing hill once. To help customers get the most of their tickets, Blue Mountain should make sure that their rental equipment is well maintained, or at least extend the number of hours available for Play All Day.

In the end, I paid around $90 ($70 for Play All Day Ticket + $22 for snowshoe and skate rentals) just to go tubing one time, hike a trail while wearing defective snowshoes, and skate in poorly fitted skates. It was definitely not worth the money. I highly do NOT recommend Play All Day at...
