We visited your store this morning around 11am. Upon entering an employee yelled loudly at us "take off your mitts and sanitizer your hands". We had barely stepped in the store let alone had time to sanitize but fully intended too. I'm all for a friendly reminder but this was not friendly or welcoming. Also we are 35 year old women who are fully aware of the expectations when entering a store. This same employee was speaking so rudely to other customers as well. One family tried to enter the store and she told them "take off your mitts and sanitize your hands and only two of you can come in". The family chose to wait outside until they all could enter and as the door closed the employee said loudly enough for me to hear "are you serious you won't sanitize and you're laughing? You think it's funny that you're going to give your covid to people?". This family wasn't refusing to sanitize they were just waiting outside until they could enter as a group. It was clearly a misunderstanding and an unnecessary over-reaction on your employees part. I understand these are difficult times for everyone especially people working in customer service. However if your employees cannot be professional and have patience maybe this industry is not the correct one for them to be working in. We did make a purchase and try hard to support local small shops but this definitely made a...
Read moreThis place is supposed to be called Happy Valley Candy, yet when I visited this morning on October 2nd, I was greeted with anything but happiness. I was purchasing a Rey Star Wars bobble head and some candy as a gift.
My sister placed her bulk candy at the front desk and left it there to look for more things to buy around the store. I was ready to cash out and before saying anything, the lady placed my sister's bag of candy on the scale (which I wasn't paying for). I told her it was my sister's and she replied in an annoyed tone, "So is it separate ?" I said yes. She proceeded to cash my items out, placed the receipts in my bag and that's it. Didn't even look at me. Didn't hand the bag to me, didn't say "here you go", or anything ... I went to take the bag and said thank you. She quietly and rudely said "mhm," still looking down.
I don't know why she was already annoyed by me saying "That's my sister's". I don't think people will return to the store if they're greeted with an...
Read moreI went in with my daughter, the employee asked if she had a mask. Try as I might she will not keep one on for more than 2 minutes. I said she did not, the lady said "you have to be 2 and under to not wear a mask" "she is 2 I replied" well that was met with a rotten look and an eye roll. Her birthday is at the end of the year. I picked her up and left the store. My daughter was crying as I had been talking about the candy store with her. My family and I will not be returning which is a shame because we are local and have been frequenting the Village as a nice place to roam outside and enjoy the treats that come along with it. I am in the service industry and understand how difficult the Covid-19 rules can be to enfoce but I could have done without the eye roll...
