Amos Waites Park Outdoor Pool — Attraction in Toronto

Nice little pool for a nice swim. Lifeguards seem friendly enough. The facility is not great. The change room is quite rundown and not clean, but it’s functional. It’s one of those way you just want to change quickly and get out.

I knocked off one star because some swimmers don’t follow the lane speed: and the lifeguards were reluctant to guide people to the correct length: slow, medium, fast. You get really slow people swimming in medium and jamming up other swimmers. Seriously, anyone who needs to swim with a float should really only be in the slow lane.

PARENTS!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE WITHOUT SUPERVISION!!! I have never seen such careless lifeguarding in my life. I actually got out of the pool to observe further because I could not believe my eyes. The shallow end guard left his post with no replacement, approached the deep end guard to flirt chat facing away from the pool. ( as well as distracting her from guarding). 10 full minutes. Then when put on deep end duty, proceeded to kick a soccer ball around the deck, not looking at the pool at all.
