I recently visited Fairview Mall and wanted to share my thoughts. First of all, it’s disheartening to see some reviews that are blatantly and clearly racist. Yes, I think there should be more diverse stores, but it’s 2025, and we need to recognize that Toronto and Canada are multicultural, diverse, and welcoming places for everyone. If these businesses are not disrupting anyone and are contributing to the growing Canadian economy, I don’t see a problem with that.

The mall itself is great, featuring a variety of stores that you typically find in other malls, such as Marshall’s, Hudson’s Bay, Aritzia, Zara, and UNIQLO. There are plenty of food options, and I appreciate having a Cineplex Cinemas on-site. If you need groceries, T&T is available, though it can get super crowded and busy. They do offer great deals and a selection of gourmet foods and skincare products.

However, it’s a bit disappointing to see some empty stores like the former Forever 21 and a few others on the lower level. I know CF can be really expensive for stores to lease, but I hope they fill those spaces soon so it doesn’t feel so bare. Access is another strong point for Fairview Mall; there are plenty of washrooms and clear signage throughout, making it very accessible. With the recent opening of T&T and other stores, foot traffic has definitely increased, which can make finding parking a bit challenging, but it’s still manageable.

I do want to mention a concerning downside: the mall has experienced several robberies, particularly at high-end jewelry stores. Chow Tai Fook was robbed twice within two weeks, and I saw that Lukfook is opening a store on the upper level soon. Given the history of robberies at the Markville Lukfook, I’m puzzled as to why they would choose to open in a middle-class area without considering their demographics.
