I think it's about time I review this restaurant as this is my number one choice for sushi in Leslieville, and probably will be for a long time. I remember when they still were at their other location on Gerrard near Jones. I can't count the number of great times I've had here (seriously, I've lost count), and I am always bringing friends to try it with me. Nobody has ever complained about my choice!

The sushi is always fresh, the veg is always fresh, everything is always fresh and they have huge variety on the menu. On the rare occasion they may not have a specialty item available, like the awesome soft shell crab, there's so much else to choose from.

I always go for the sashimi, tempura veg, and some of the cooked dishes, but I've had some of the rolls too. I can't say anything has ever disappointed me. It's not the most sophisticated Japanese food ever, and definitely has that Canadian palate-friendly slant to it, but it maintains high quality, good prices, and depth of flavour even so.

The staff is also fantastic. It took one visit for them to remember me, and I'm greeted like family every time I return. I feel like that is probably pretty common here, as it's a local spot with a lot of regulars. And the prices all are quite reasonable considering. I'm glad they seem to be doing well at this location because it's a lot nicer and has...

Returned for a lovely dinner: Uni sushi; chopped blue fin tuna maki; spot shrimp sushi with fried heads (delicious); grilled Hamachi Kama (generous portion Yellow tail collar); Deluxe for two. Fresh fish, well prepared, great service, thank you 😊 We have driven by many times, and really glad a friend recommended this Japanese restaurant, with great Japanese food. Interior is small, but very well appointed, very clean. Great that menu includes lots of Appetizers. Service excellent, Sashimi fresh, appetizers & Salmon bento very good. Highly recommended. We sat in front corner and did not see the “black board” specials [Uni, Boten Ebi (Peony / Spot Shrimp; chopped BF (blue fin) Tuna toro] until we were settling the bill. Will definitely be back soon to try those and other menu items, thank...

Holy Mackerel and they don't even have mackerel on the menu! This is a top notch sushi joint! Went with our friends who are in from Florida for a funeral. They needed a pick me up so we wanted to take them out for a nice afternoon and show them "the Big Smoke". The nice fellow behind the counter made us all kinds of fish I've never even heard of! We tried butterfish, yellowfin tuna, and barbecued eel. Well let me tell you, each fish that came out was better than the next. That EEL is the REAL DEAL. The salmon was so good that I had to order more. Dorothy liked it too. Next time will bring our nephew Stephen. From now on I am on a SEA FOOD diet, when I SEE FOOD from Sushi on Gerrard, I am...

tldr; well worth the price for a perfect meal! After reading the positive reviews for Sushi on Gerrard, we decided to give it a try with UberEats. We were extremely impressed with the presentation of the love boat for two that was delivered and the salmon skin roll and saba along with it. We actually requested for unique nigiri and sashimi in the loveboat and they accommodated our request! Everything was thickly sliced and very fresh. The soup and salad (with a sesame dressing) were delicious as well. The portion is well worth the price and the quality of each item we ordered was flawless. Please support this restaurant as I'm sure they will put a lot of care for your meal as they did with ours! c;
