I’ve had two terrible experiences at this place on "Latin Fridays or Saturdays" and I would not recommend it unless you are okay with been mistreated, and willing to wait in line for at least 40 minutes.
Both times, the staff yelled at us, threatened to never let us in again, and publicly shamed us. This place used to be great, but now it seems like the bouncers and other staff feel entitled to treat customers poorly, and the management clearly doesn’t care. It’s disappointing, especially since this is one of the few Latin spots downtown. Anyways, avoid this place unless you wanna wait for a long time (even if you have tickets) or be forced to pay for a cover fee due to their "system" of delaying entrance. It's all a scam.
If you want the full tea, here it is:
The first incident happened when my group was accused of cutting the line and trying to get in for free. We had our tickets on our phones and had been waiting in line for over an hour. As the conversation started drawing attention from other people in line, the staff aggressively and physically pushed one of our friends out of the line without hesitation. He ended up leaving and a different bouncer tried to make it up by letting us in "faster".
The second time was today, and the same thing happened. We were treated rudely and were then told we couldn’t buy tickets. They advertise "ladies free before 11:30," but it seems like they stop letting people in around 10:50. As a result, people end up waiting and then have to pay. Additionally, the bouncers were rude and allowed people to cut the line for $20. By the time people who had been waiting got in, they still had to pay at the door because of the delayed entry. Not going...
Read moreThis review is based on that this was only my second time at a club. Line is fast and the free women entry before 11:30 is great and the bartenders were literally the nicest and very fast considering they were swarmed.
Went on Latin night, music was great and fun and so was dj. Security was great. Not for people only looking to dance.
My only problem are the men! As the night progresses more and more men ask to dance or for phone number when we hadn’t even spoken or made eye contact.
One particular man kept on bothering me for more than two hours, asked to dance and rejected 3 times before I gave in cause he wasn’t going to leave me alone, I kept on going to different parts and he could show up no less than 10 mins later. I’m literally not lying within the first 30 seconds of dancing he asked if I wanted to kiss him and I said no and asked again after another two minutes, told him I was never going to kiss him and to leave me alone, at one point he would abruptly hug me a rub him face on mine, did it a few times until I realised the was kissing my cheek, told him I was serious about not kissing and to leave me alone, kept on grabbing my hand and waist once in a while when I wasn’t looking. I never looked any man in the eye cause I wasn’t looking for a hook up, just came for the music with friends and was bothered for the majority of the time until I just left...
Read moreWent for classic house music, with DJ Starting From Scratch and his great mixing. The dancefloor is nice and large, with a few tables lining the sides. The Dancefloor was scorching hot and had my clothing drenched in sweat and dripping on my face, with a few fans mounted to the left edges of the dance floor ceiling barely as relief. I even asked a security guard if it is normally that temperature, and they said they "yeah, don't know why they don't increase the A/C". The older crowd seemed to be prepared, with some hand fans or towels in their back pockets.
That night also had a 4 a.m. close time, which became an issue when you are parched, since the bar is completely non-operational past 2 a.m., not even serving water or non-alcoholic beverages. In my opinion, this is hazardous considering the possible drunk patronage along with the high temperatures inside. I was sober, but found myself dizzy after a hard night of dancing and sweating and had to walk 15 minutes to the next closest convenience store to buy water. Before 2 a.m., water bottles can be purchased for $5, with tax + %20 tip automatically included.
Overall, I would not be returning unless it is a much cooler date and an event I'm very interested in due to the issues...
