This place is a local gem—a LOCAL GEM!!! The food here is absolutely fantastic, especially considering the price point. They offer such a diverse selection of Korean dishes, which is impressive for the area. It’s so convenient to have this spot close by instead of having to go to more popular Korean food hubs like Koreatown or Yonge and Finch, where there are a million Korean restaurants.
I’ve been on the hunt for great Korean fried chicken, and honestly, even in those popular areas, I usually find the chicken too dry for my taste. But here at K-Food Kitchen? They’ve nailed it. The food is excellent, and they offer a broader range of dishes compared to other Korean spots I’ve tried. I also LOVE their portion options. At most expensive Korean restaurants, the smallest size chicken is usually $20, but here they offer a small size for just $10, a medium for around $15, and a large size too. It’s such a great deal, and the smaller sizes make it easy to try a bunch of different flavors without breaking the bank.
Now, I’m not saying this is the best Korean food in terms of quality—you can only go so far with a low price. But when you compare it to other restaurants and factor in the price and quality simultaneously, it’s definitely better than many spots I’ve tried.
I ordered delivery through Uber Eats, and it was so good I can’t even imagine how amazing it would be fresh at the restaurant. I’m already planning to visit in person soon!
Here’s what I got: • Fried Chicken Sandwich Only – $12.95 (3rd FAV!) • K-Fried Boneless Chicken (Small) with Gangjeong Sauce – $10.95 (MY FAV !!!) • Bulgogi Cheese Fries – $11.95 (2nd FAV !!) • Gimbap & Chicken Combo (Bulgogi Gimbap + Honey Soy Garlic Chicken) – $15.00
All of this totaled to just around $50, even with delivery fees included! The quality, flavor, portion sizes, and value are exceptional. My family will definitely be ordering again and can’t wait to try more from the menu. Highly recommend—so glad we found this after scrolling forever...
Read moreOrdered bulgogi kimbap along with 4 boneless chicken with different sauces except for the curry one. Kimbab was fresh and flavourful. Truffle cheese tasted quite plain and if eating with the sauce that comes with it, it’s a bit too much. Too greasy for my liking. The portion is great compared to the price.
I was so excited to try this place after seeing some great reviews on FB but my experience was overall disappointing. Besides the not so impressive food, the service… could be better. They had 2 separate entrances and when we entered through the main door where it faces the parking lot, no one greeted despite the eye contact and let us know where we can go to order. With the loud music and multiple people around from the other entrance through the mall, it was pretty disordered. We figured where the line was by ourselves but seeing the staff being indifferent about it wasn’t really nice. I expected it’d be more welcoming because of the reviews but it definitely wasn’t today.
This one might be just our problem being Korean who are used to get pickled radish that always comes with chicken without having to pay extra. We ordered 4 small sizes of chicken which almost equals to the regular size and it didn’t come with any. When I gave a call to the store after opening the food in my car, I was told I’d have to pay about $3 more as it’s only included in the regular one. Idk it would’ve been just nice if they gave us one considering the fair amount of money we spent… It wasn’t a huge order but fair enough to just get one pickled radish...
Read moreThis I went to K-Food long ago when it was still at the Centerpoint location (and thought it was gone forever). Seeing their location updated on my Google map was a pleasant surprise. Since I didn't bring lunch to work today and the new location is close to work, I thought about trying it again!
I got the kimbap and chicken combo. The shrimp kimbap was very delicious, to say the least. I rarely get to have fried shrimp kimbap in other restaurants, and this one was very delightful. Unfortunately, the chicken was a letdown. It was not crispy, like other Korean fried chicken places, and the meat didn't seem well-marinated (so it still had a bit of the “meat” flavour). I did enjoy the sauce quite a bit, and it went really well with the kimbap.
Ultimately, I will still return to try different food on the menu. It has quite a bit of variety so I'm sure other items could be just as delightful as the kimbap I got. I remember they had Salmon don back in the Centerpoint location - I'm sad that it is not a thing anymore haha.
Great service - super friendly. The kitchen seemed to be clean, but the building had a certain smell in the air that was not very pleasant, probably due to the takeout joint being in an...
