This TD branch is the most inefficient, unhelpful branch I have ever experienced. My most recent unpleasant experience with them happened five days ago, when I went there to ask for a standard recommendation letter for an apartment rental application. It is over 12 years I am with TD and I have several accounts with tens of thousands dollars savings and investments but like any sane person I keep the minimum required money in my chequing account. The lady at the help desk directed me to the manager of the branch (or someone who was in charge of the actual manager). To my surprise he told me that the only thing he would write in the recommendation form would be the amount in my chequing. Less than an hour before that I was at RBC and the nice assistant there, without me even asking her, wrote me the total amount of my assets with RBC. I told it to the TD branch manager and he, in a relatively rude manner, told me he was not comfortable doing that. I asked him if instead of writing the total amount of my assets he could simply write the information about the account with maximum investment in it (that has been there for several years now) and he said he could not. I asked him not to fill out the form. Took it back and went to the TD branch at Bay and Bloor where the friendly staff did precisely what RBC staff had done for me, without even me asking him to do so (that means it is something standard, at least is not unjust). He also gave me a certified print out of brief history I have with TD, confirming that I have been a long term trustworthy client.
I am happy that this nonsense policy that used in Bay-College is not TD's overall policy, but I am very disappointed at the branch at Bay and College by having such unhelpful (in its best interpretation) staff there.
It is also worth mentioning that this was not the only non-pleasant experience I have had with this TD branch. Long line ups are normal in certain hours especially for branches at main intersections, but after waiting in those lines, having unfriendly faces and staff who shoot you to each other for simple tasks -those that other branches do quickly and hassle-free for the clients- means this branch needs a real investigation by TD, if they want to keep their...
Read moreWe would like to leave a review for the 777 Bay Street TD Branch. My Wife and I had a walk in consultation with a Financial Advisor by the name of Emmanuel Guerrero! Emmanuel is what one would call an exceptional fiduciary, an attentive advisor, an extremely helpful professional who dots his I’s and Crosses his T’s. Emmanuel has tremendous emotional and interpersonal intelligence and uses it with great professional integrity! When someone does a great job, especially in such a time of global instability and lack of surety, they MUST be recognized and rewarded! He helped us enormously by ensuring the transactional operation we came to do was done perfectly and he had enough care, couth and courtesy to ensure that there was no more additional stops in our way. Not only was he helpful, his manager who assisted him anytime he had a question due to the rare nature of our situation, was also extremely helpful to us with thorough care and watchfulness. Also, there was a Teller named Loloa or LouLou( we weren’t able to get her name completely) but she helped us with our card activation questions and assisted my Wife with depositing a check in her account. She also took the time to be patient, understanding, extremely pleasant and awesome. 777 Bay St as a whole needs raises and promotions because those 3 alone were reflective of the morale, training and etiquette of that branch and are exemplary for TD Bank as a global Banking Force. Due to this, we will tell anyone we can to go to 777 for their banking needs. Thank you very much for listening!

Read moreIf there is less than a star, I would give it to this branch. The WOREST experience ever!! I dealt with two different advisor and both couldn't get me an approval for the credit card. Even when I told them that I was switching all my accounts to TD they were Not professional at all. Over two month waiting, and if I didn't contact them, they would never contacted me. One advisor throw me to another. They tried 4 times for the application and at the end they told me that I would NEVER get approved for any type of credit card, not even for the minimum amount and recommended me to apply after six months. However, when applied by myself, just an hour after they said I would never get approved, from the app, I've got approved. It's either I do really know how to apply or they actually don't know what they are doing or how to help customers or most likely both!. When I contact the first advisor, they took soo long to reply back and they were rude because I asked for an update and they told me "I am just a part timer". I was literally considering close all my accounts with TD and go to another bank because of the way I was treated! This branch is in the heart of the downtown and surrounded by lots of universities and should have the best advisor, but my experience was the worst. If you want to open an account with TD,...
