This place used to be good before but right now it is subzero stars. I walked in and there was this guy with a beard serving behind the counter ..not only was he rude, but also very stingy. I have been to this place several times in the past but it drastically went downhill. Please note that this restaurant is very stuffy and hardly any fresh air going in or out because they have spicy food and they’ve got both of their doors shut which keeps the spicy smelly Steam within the restaurant. This makes customers feel very uncomfortable. Basically, if you want to smell like a pot of stinky curry from head to toe then by all means visit this place and in 30 seconds you will smell like a curry pot.
So going back to the guy behind the cash, I ordered some Chana Samosa, and he was trying to upsell me the mixed thali dish some other stuff. So I thought of getting the Thalia instead of the Chana Samosa. What I was served at my table was beyond disgusting. I paid $17 for a veggie thali plus tax which literally had almost nothing in it. I would serve pigeons more than this amount of food.
Usually with Indian food, there is always some tiny amount of salad or pickles on the side, but this person point-blank refused to give me even sliced onions. The quality of the food was really terrible and the naan tasted stale and hard like they have been reheated. I begged the guy to open one of the doors because it was very stuffy. he hesitantly did. He only opened an inch of the door. I also told him that I used to be a regular customer in the past and everybody helped me open the door since I have asthma and I cannot breathe a place like this. Can of pop was charged at $2.50 plus tax. I mean, what is this place a luxury lounge? This is clearly Indian street food at a sub street level service that it has become now. Avoid these burglars. They have no manners and no customer service. The previous staff used to be better. I think they have changed management. If you look at the picture of my tray, there were two compartments completely empty. Those used to be filled before with pickles and some other dishes. I didn’t bother to argue with this man because he was already too rude to start off with. No wonder I was the only customer during dinner time. In the past, they used to have more people here. Avoid this place by all costs. They are rip off rogues. it’s better to walk down the street and get better service at a...
Read moreI recently ordered takeout from Colaba Junction, and the experience was far from satisfactory.
The service at this establishment is extremely poor. If you're looking for food to be ready within 35-40 minutes, this place might suit your needs. However, if you're hoping for anything within a reasonable 10-15 minutes, look elsewhere.
The staff here seem utterly disinterested in providing good customer service. Their nonchalant and indifferent attitudes are disheartening, especially in a community that values hospitality.
It’s clear that the owner has not provided the front-line staff with any meaningful training or support.Despite being associated with one of the coolest food spots in South Asia, Colaba Junction has failed to bring that cultural charm and efficiency here.
The aspiration to replicate a successful concept is evident, but they are missing the mark by a long shot.I am still waiting for my food, and it’s been ages. There’s a lot of hope pinned on the quality of the food to redeem this experience, but based on the service alone,
I wouldn't recommend this place. More updates to follow once I try the food, but for now, it's not...
Read moreIf you want authentic Indian food.. I wouldn't recommend going here. I've been here a couple times now, but today was extra disappointing. Previously, I've gotten their Kathi rolls and vada pav. The taste was fine but nothing to boast about especially for the price as it's not worth it. Today I got the vada pav and was looking to take advantage of their Happy Hour deal which states 20% off Food on the sign outside the restaurant from 3-6 PM Mon-Fri. Upon asking about the offer, the male staff that took my order told me that the vada pav is not included as the Happy Hour is not for appetizers (not reflected on signs and promotions). Later adds that it's only for dine in customers (which is stated at the bottom of the sign so that's fine). My $7.85 (tax included) for vada pav got me two mediocre vada pavs and with the chutneys mixed together. Customer service is very poor. Staff during each visit never greet you or even smile for that matter. You're left waiting around at the front, not knowing if you should sit or order first. I've given this place three tries (2 more than it deserved), definitely not going back as I've never had a...
