They did a great job at renovating the library, well not that new by now. It feels spacious, light and quite conducive to reading, working and studying, unlike before. There are many facilities available for free. There are tables near the windows, glass pods, learning areas, reading rooms (yes, a different space), innovation rooms, enough computers for anyone to use. The interior architecture is beautifully done. There are 2 circular glass elevators giving riders a panoramic view of the well designed interiors. The lines of the curving stairwell, the way the centre of the building was left open for space and light, the shapes of the furniture pieces and how they are arranged are all done so well. Eye candy bonus for all who walk in. It’s a pleasure to go to this library. On top of all this, the information staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, always with a smile.

This is absolutely my most favorite library in Toronto. Here are my reasons: Space: the architecture is undeniably gorgeous. The inside is well lit and I appreciate the greenery that’s implemented in the building. Plenty of places to sit. The washrooms are also extremely clean every time I go! Notes of improvement are functioning outlets and wifi though. Otherwise, I’m content. Book selection: as you can tell, this library has a PLETHORA of books, films, CDs, and more to browse. I promise you, there is something for everyone here! The library also has sales and I was able to get a wonderful vegetarian cookbook for just a dollar. Staff: I’ve only had pleasant experiences with the staff here. They have all been very kind to me and were able to answer all of my questions. This library is a must-visit spot for book lovers or those that love to marvel at architecture!

BED BUGS ❗️🚨 There are bed bugs in this library! Me and my friends visited Toronto Reference Library today from 4 PM to 7:30 PM. We were sitting corner table, to the right of the stairs going up on the 3rd floor by a display stand. As I finished studying, I did grab my back pack from the floor, I saw around 10 bed bugs crawling into my back pack's wholes. There was all kinds of them. Large, small, all colours, fat, and skinny. I killed at least 6-7 bed bugs with my fingers. As I got home I had to get rid of all my clothes, back pack, and my stuff in it. I am going to avoid going to this library for a while. The picture I did upload might not be very clear or it might not seem bad as I wrote, but believe I am not exaggerating. I really hope Toronto Reference Library comes up with solution.

The Toronto Reference Library is a public reference library in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is the largest and most visited branch of Toronto Public 📚 Library. Established in 1909, the Toronto Reference Library initially operated from another building on College Street. The new building was opened to the public in 1977 as the Metropolitan Toronto Reference Library, and the library continued to operate under that name until 1998, when it reverted to its original name. The building underwent renovations and expansion from 2009 to 2014. I just love to look around, read and relax. It’s very quiet place to study 📖 or read your favorite 📕 It’s open daily 👍🏼 Great coffee shop Balzac’s on the side ☕️
