Free to see. In a courtyard of the Yorkville Village. Beside the Bay Street TTC Station. Have to be impressed there is such a large rock which has survived this long. It is said it was moved here during the last Ice Age when the glaciers were melting. It is ancient though clearly has had much human intervention. Still it sits firmly.

The "rock" hosted both the Jazz festival AND a mariachi band. Trumpets galore! We were dancing in the street, people watching and got to see lots of fancy cars. We had drinks here too. Fun way to spend an hour or two.

Beautiful giant rock in the middle of the city. Lovely to sit on or stare at while sitting down around the rock. Not slippery at all. Must see highlight of Toronto. Would recommend everyone to go see it!

Approximately one billion years old, “The Rock” weighs 650 tons and represents the roots of an ancient mountain range that has long since eroded. The rock was removed in pieces from the Canadian glacial shield and transported in huge fragments on 20 flatbed trailers to Toronto’s Yorkville Park. As each rock section arrived, it was reassembled to minimize visible joints, although gaps remain which give the stone the look of a...

Regular big rock, usually with lots of people on it. Doesn't have a washroom and wheel chair access. Can get crowded. No menu, so you get what you get. Best during the day, or late at night. Great for dancing or chilling, but millage may vary. No patio, but near by chairs and tables, first come first serve. Relatively clean. No smoking area. Open 24 hours. 3/5 stars, would...

Took time to pause and admire the huge rocks transported from the Canadian glaciers. The whole mass is made of different rocks joined in such a way that it looks natural and crater like. Said to be approx a billion years old, the Rocks had my awe and reverence. Sat in the tables near the fountain to admire the rocks on a hot...
