Me and my wife, recently celebrated our wedding ceremony and reception at Woodbine Banquet Hall on August 26, 2024, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue for our special day. From the moment we began planning, the entire team at Woodbine Banquet Hall exceeded our expectations, making our wedding day a truly unforgettable experience.

The wedding party made the best of the terrible situation that they had to go through with the power outage that occured during the thunderstorm on May 21, 2022. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about this banquet hall that did absolutely nothing and had no emergency arrangements in place.

Of course the thunderstorm and power outage is not something they have control of, but there are definitely things that could have been done and handled better. I had increasing safety concerns as it got later into the night. There weren't even any emergency lighting that you'd expect at least the exits. The bathrooms were a nightmare as there was little visibility and the floors were getting wet. My grandmother nearly slipped and fell.

Dinner kept getting delayed as management advised the the power would come back on soon. The power did not come on. They finally had the food ready around 11pm. However, some of the food was cold or undercooked. There seemed to not be enough servers and they were not very coordinated. Some of the brides family was forced to serve food to the guests.

Overall it was still a memorable night because of the bride and groom's positivity and their wedding party's efforts of bringing in their own generators and supplying enough lighting for the guests to still enjoy the program and dancing. As for this banquet hall, I would not recommend them. They provided no assistance during the event, had no emergency arrangements for situations like this and did absolutely nothing to make this situation right even after the fact.

For the owner to respond to other reviews saying that it was the clients decision to put their guests in danger is absurd. They were paying clients at your venue that you've failed to keep safe and provide ANY...

Came here for an event and there are definitely good parts to this facility and not so great parts.

The great parts include the place itself. I had my prom here in 2005 and the beauty of the facility hasn’t changed. It remains a beautiful place for pictures. There is also ample parking so if you need to ensure parking for a large party, you are definitely guaranteed that. It is also incredibly accessible as it is off hwy 27. Unfortunately that’s all for the great things.

The food itself was not seasoned at all, and while I understand the food needing to satisfy a large variety of people, salt and pepper is a requirement. Utensils and glasses were still dirty despite being told they were clean which makes me question the sight of the servers. Food was delivered to half of our table and then 10 minutes later the other half of the table got their food which I guess is okay considering some tables didn’t even get their food. Even when it was brought to servers’ attention that people haven’t received food, it almost still seemed ignored. Dessert was being brought out as some still hadn’t received dinner.

Lastly the servers are a treat. While some were very engaging, accommodating and very nice, others thought it was appropriate to eat the food meant for service and toss cupcakes onto stands with no regard. If you asked a question, you were faced with indifference or hushed rudeness. It’s amazing what you can see when no one thinks you are watching.
