One of the best events happens here

You’ve NEVER seen fireworks like this in Canada! This is the Victoria Day Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay Park, Toronto – a mind-blowing show that lights up the entire skyline. Rated 10/10 for sound, color, crowd, and energy!

What is Victoria Day in Canada? Victoria Day is a national holiday in Canada that celebrates Queen Victoria’s birthday. It’s also the official start of summer! Date: Celebrated on the Monday before May 25 every year. In 2025, it was on May 19.

Why is it celebrated? Canadians honor Queen Victoria, who was the monarch when Canada became a self-governing country. It’s a time for fireworks, family, and fun outdoors.

What’s special at Ashbridges Bay Park?

Had fries. They was $8. But really worth it. Disappointed I tryed to order 5 guys with no success. Used to sneak in the back door and get free sodas, sorry and thank you. You saved my life meny times. Took these photos on holloween 4 years ago. ‎ ‎I love Sephora. I often stop by and try the make up. The Sephora collection is definitely the best. Dior, Louie Vatton are my new favorite fragrences. Everything to make you beautiful. ‎ ‎Beautiful place! Get to the parking lot by 9 am on a Sunday! And hope you don't need the bathroom until after the cleaning through is done. Blah! The gift shop/concessions open at 10 am. Both beaches became packed very quickly. The hikes are amazing but don't underestimate the climb or over estimate yourself. You don't need to be a pro, but hiking shoes, walking stick and lots of water is highly recommended! I didn't camp, just visited for the day. ‎ ‎What a view? The view from the top of the cliff was absolutely stunning. There is a Trail that takes you all the way to the top where you can see the entire lake. When you enter the park, the admission fee is $16. You can enter and exit the park as long as you have the ticket on the dashboard. You can enjoy the lake using the paddleboard, canoes or kayaks. There is a fee for that and I believe it’s $38 for a ride. There is a visitor center and a nice big store where you can buy merchandise. Best times to go is June and July because the weather is nice and warm. Besides enjoying the lake, you can explore the trails take nature walks or simply sit and read a book by the lake. When I went there a few days back I was surprised to see how clean the area was, and the breathtaking views of the Devil lake. So if you haven’t visited this place yet, I feel you should put this as your bucket list and make sure to visit this place as soon as you get a...

The beach itself is nice, clean, and not too busy during the summer. The changing rooms are ok but it would be nice if there were more showers available, indoors or outdoors.

But unfortunately, the behaviour of the people at this beach tends to be quite horrendous, with students playing soccer right next to the water and kicking sand into people's faces, and groups of volleyball players trying their hardest to turn half of the beach into a completely unwelcoming and exclusive environment. It's a shame that there is no sense of community to be found anywhere in this city.

Besides that, the lifeguards really need to chill out. I was myself a lifeguard when I was younger at a beach on the Atlantic that was popular with surfers. In other words, I have swam in beaches where there are actually dangerous waves and currents. Being that this is a big lake and not the ocean, large waves are extremely uncommon. And yet, the lifeguards would constantly call swimmers back when they like 15 meters from the shore. Those were not children and were obviously competent swimmers. The constant yelling through the megaphone is very annoying and it makes it impossible to just relax in the water or while sunbathing. If thousands of beaches by the ocean experience 0 drownings without lifeguards yelling at anyone who isn't sitting at half a meter of water, please stop bothering swimmers that are a 30 second tread from the sand. I understand this is your job, but I would not say anything about this at all if it was anything but a nuisance. And while you are watching good swimmers do their regular thing, you could fail to notice someone who might really be getting hurt...
