It is one of my favourite pools in the city. And I am very grateful that we have this facility, free of charge - that's why I feel bad to write not such great review… the place reopened after two years hiatus (repairs/renovation). My biggest complain (but that goes to practically all the public swimming pools in the city) is that nobody monitors whether people shower before entering the deck. which means hardly anybody does. which is gross. because it is hot, so we all get sweaty and sticky, and people just hop into water like this. Years ago there was an attendant sitting on the way to stairs leading to the deck and pool - and this attendant would remind/ask people to take a shower. Shower used to be obligatory. and people usually listened and want back and showered. now there is nobody - just two empty chairs (see my picture). I wonder whether the city just gave up on this idea - to expect the folks to be willing to take a shower before swim - or people who work there just dislike the task and refuse to do it. also nobody scoops dead bug, bandaids and other yucky stuff that gathers in the pool corners. the showers (if you make this incredible effort and sacrifice and use them before swimming) are actually decent, there are curtains, hot water and soap. altogether there are three pools: diving well (that opens at noon) - if you have enough courage you can jump 5 meters down (which feels like much more because the swimming pool is elevated above the ground), a shallow pool for kids and a large pool for laps. altogether I totally love the place (I wish I lived closer to it!) I just hope the showering situation was better managed - but it is what it is. the north facing entrance seems to be permanently closed, use the south side entrance (facing the lake). I would like to compliment staff who was in charge of the change room/washrooms last weekend - they were actually...

Welcome back Swimmers!!!!

Outdoor pools open 14 June 2025 (for some pools). All pools 21 June 2025.

Summerville is literally the best outdoor swimming pool on the East side of Toronto. Summerville consists of 3 swimming pools: a 50m Olympic pool, 25m shallow pool, and a dive tank.

The Olympic pool is open for the swim season. There are 4 dedicated lanes for lane swimming. As well as, two buoyed off leisure swim areas in the pool (one for shallow and deep water.) You won’t be disappointed. The water temperature is perfect. Follow it up with the hot showers.

Feel like diving? We got you covered with 1m, 3m, 5m and 10m dive boards in the diving pool. (There are restrictions in the diving pool. Please ask a lifeguard about the rules.)

Little kids? Enjoy the 25m shallow pool with the kiddos.

** All pools are accessible by a ladder. ** There is an elevator to bring you upstairs to the pools. ** Change rooms contain: private and public shower and change room (with coin-operated lockers $0.25), and a bathroom. ** You’re allowed to bring personal items up on the deck such as chairs and strollers. ** Lane swim equipment: pool bouys and kickboards can be borrowed by pool staff.

2025 Swim hours (Canada Day to Labour Day)

Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 16:00 - Leisure / Family Swim + Dedicated all-day Lane Swimming 16:00 to 17:00 - Closed for Regular Maintenance 17:00 to Close - Leisure / Family Swim + Dedicated all-day Lane Swimming

After Labour Day, Pool remains open until September 22. Weekday Hours (reduced) 16:00 to 19:00 Weekend...

We went for the reopening. 3/5 stars. The actual 50m pool is decent, nothing special but nice. Obviously it's location is pretty cool, with the ability to go to the beach afterwards.

I wasn't here to see the swimming pool before the renovations and love that the swimming pool is free, but the changing rooms really required some care as they were pretty dirty and I guess haven't been properly cleaned since renovation work has been completed. Also seeing as the changing rooms are open changing, my girlfriend was uncomfortable when a guy came in to clean.

It's just a shame as the pool could easily be awesome and 5/5 stars, with some more care and attention. I've also read previous reviews saying how bags have been stolen from lockers. I can easily see how...

Fabulous and a joy to visit!! I grew up in the beaches and at this pool every day in the summers. So happy to see it is still open and running. We visited August 2018 what a blast from the past. The sun was beaning the beach was filled with sun bathers and people walking and cycling the boardwalk. The view from above is amazing. There is a pool for younger children and those who just like to enjoy a swim. And deeper pool with swimming lanes to practice your stroke. The dive pool is a sight to see with a 5m and 10m dive board. There are change rooms and lockers that take quarters. A must to see if you are in the beaches area at woodbine beach off of Queens St. Free for everyone to enjoy. Just bring your towel and soak up the sun. ☀️⛱

First thing to know, is that lockers cost 25 ¢. No option to bring your own lock. You get a small metal key. The lineup to enter the pool on a weekday is not so bad. They take groups of people in at one time. It’s not a super formal line. There are 3 pools. One leisure. 1 Olympic size which is for laps. Within the olympic size pool there are sections where you can do short laps, or chill. The 2 pools do not have a deep section. The 3rd pool is solely a deep pool, and is solely used for diving purposes on the diving board, not for leisure or swimming laps. So I was a bit disappointed especially since I wanted to swim in deeper water
