Breathe Spa — Attraction in Vancouver

Loved my masseuse and massage itself. Although, the front of house staff were impolite. Prior to my groupon appointment date I had initially scheduled in for, I had called to potentially reschedule for another day and asked what other times might be available. I told the receptionist I would call her back if I chose to change the date and time. Though I did not change the date and time, the receptionist called me out of no where on a random day explaining that I had missed an appointment which was not mine? I explained to her that from my understanding my appointment was still set for my original date and I never changed it nor did the spa confirm this change in appointment following up. Upon arrival on the day of my scheduled appointment, there were two people of whom worked at the spa and no one greeted me. I was standing at the front counter waiting to check in for my appointment. There were juvaderm packages all over the cashier counter in a mess. Post my appointment as the receptionist was ringing me up she tried charging me for a full priced massage when I explained I had booked in with a groupon as mentioned at the time of booking, she abruptly told me their spa was not a “groupon” spa and she could not validate my groupon I purchased. I explained to her that her statement doesn’t make sense as the Breathe spa is in fact on groupon and the treatment I scheduled myself for was for the groupon. She then argued that if she had known it was a groupon she wouldn’t have booked me in with the masseuse I had but another of less experience... and actually used this employees name. It was awful, I felt uncomfortable and not the way one should feel following a spa experience. I had actually been to this spa years ago for a massage and facial and the experience was an absolute stand out... it’s too bad the spa as since declined in overall customer service and ambience. I used to be very fond of it and had actually purchased a gift card for a friend in the past after my first pleasant experience.

I feel like I have been ripped off at this place. I went there without any prior knowledge of skin treatments and the technician introduced me to a few treatments (i.e. IPL Skin Resurfacing, Skin Rejuvenation, and Microderm) and offered me a so called “good deal” for over $1,800. Now that I am looking at their Groupon deals, this whole package could have come to $400 - max. $500 if I knew about their online Groupon deals. Again I had no knowledge of such treatments and the pricing, but you would expect them to offer you the best and not to take advantage of your lack of information and knowledge.

Also, the technician who offered me the package was supposed to be there for me and monitor the progress and my skin improvements, but then she never showed up for my appointments and every time I had a different person treating me. I also had so many reschedules as they didn’t have anyone available for some of my treatments.

I also feel that some of my sessions were too rushed...

I did see some results after all, but it was not worth the price that I paid as I could have definately get this package for below...

I have waited a while to post this review as I really liked all the staff who served me, however the damage to my skin due to the facial I received here I can no longer ignore and I wish had never come here. I have had facials in the past and this was extremely painful in comparison, the ‘aesthetician’ (I do not think she had proper training) tried to extract spots which weren’t ready leaving my face covered in dark spots which are only just beginning to fade 3 months later and also tried to extract ‘spots’ (actually sebaceous filaments not meant for extracting) which has left bumpy scars on my nose which show no sign of going down. I have to look at the lumps on my nose everyday and it honestly makes me so depressed, I hope that by writing this review it prevents someone else from going through what I am going through. I would like to reiterate that the staff who served me were super polite and kind, maybe their other treatments...
