Bonjour Banh Mi — Restaurant in Vancouver

Came for their opening special. Everything went smooth as we got 2 Banh mi for free and 15% off the others. We got one of their special, lemongrass chicken, and grilled pork Banh mis and 1 of their shrimp salad roll.

Let's start with their Special : with $0.50 more, you definitely get more filling and meat. You get a variety of meat in there and this is my recommended to get.

Now to their grilled pork : This is the one I was really looking forward to, but instead of getting a hot grilled pork, I got what seems to be like a cold luncheon meat. The volume inside the sandwich was cheaped out. It was more bread than other flavors.

As for their lemongrass chicken : same thing, the ingredients were cheaped out. More bread than flavors. I couldn't taste the chicken nor the lemongrass.

I find overall their ingredients to be fresh, but I really expected their fillings to be twice as much as what they gave me today. Hopefully they can...

Ordered a Lemongrass Chicken and a regular cold cut sandwich from here, along with a pork salad roll. Live nearby but used ubereats because of the heatwave, food showed up well-packaged and at a good temp. The pork salad roll was a bit small for the price but it was tasty and the sauce was very good. The two Banh Mi sandwiches were delicious, I had one for lunch and the other for dinner. Their in-house pate is fantastic and I kind of want to just buy a jar of it to eat with a spoon. Will definitely order again from them in future and would highly recommend. My only problem is that I have limited stomach space so I can't eat all the different kinds of sandwiches in one sitting.

Edit: just looked up their menu online, the regular pricing for the salad roll for that portion size is more than reasonable. Ubereats pricing is understandably more expensive. Will try to pick up in future instead so that Ubereats isn't taking such a big...

Despite the sandwich being a 5/5, I'm giving the restaurant a 3 star rating because the guy at the cash that was also in charge of preparing the sandwich touched my coins and didn't change his gloves when making my sandwich.. touching the bread, grabbing the ingredients from the bins and placing them. Gross and so unsanitary. There was a man behind me too about to order, this is just not acceptable business practice in the food industry. All of those fresh ingredients are contaminated.

About the food: A really nice quality and tasty sandwich—all the ingredients were fresh and they complimented each other so nicely. The bread was also very good—warm, crisp on the outside layer, warm and glutinous on the inside.

I'd love to come back but I hesitate to because of the money handling incident. The actual restaurant and sandwich preparation station are clean. I hope the owner and staff will see this review to avoid repeating...
