EL Hair - E 1st Ave — Attraction in Vancouver

I rarely write reviews but I had to for my experience. Emily was extremely unprofessional and wasted 45 mins of my time. I never got the haircut…

Here is my experience: I had an appointment today with Emily at 2:00pm. I showed up at 2:07 which is my fault for being late. I tried calling in to let her know I would be late…but no pick up and I assume the appointment would still be valid.But I booked it for 2:00pm and when I walked in I saw her washing another clients hair and she directed me to take a seat. But I already thought that was strange because I’ve been here before and went with Semi (she was amazing- great hair cut and super kind) and I know that clients start with a hair wash. So I was confused why she would already be washing another client hair if I booked this spot, then she proceed to cut his hair and after he was done. Emily came up to me and asked how I want my hair to be cut then she’s like okay no problem. Then she’s like I have a client at 3pm… I don’t know if I can take you. At this point it’s already 2:35pm and she’s like wait give me a second let me see then proceed to leave and help the other client. Now at 2:40 she came back and explained how she can’t cut my hair because she has client at 3:00pm. And I asked her if she took a walk in? And she said “no. Is because it took longer than expected.” But how is this possible? If at 2:07 she looks like she just started washing his hair. I stayed there until 2:45 waited for 40 mins only for her to waste my time which was extremely unprofessional as she gave me every intention to cut my hair. She was never honest either because she could’ve told me right away she can’t take me but she never did.

I am extremely unhappy with this service and unprofessionalism. I recommend going with semi or any of the other hair stylist. I am not upset with the salon as my first experience was amazing, but I’m upset with Emily’s customer service. This was extremely disappointing and a...

I've gone here twice, once with El and this time with Jayden. Their long line of experience really showed based on how they offered me advice and guidance on haircare. With El, I did a curtain bang haircut with layered trim and she was delightful, the experience was well worth it that I'd even recommend this place to my close friends and hearing from their feedback they love El! Recently with Jayden, I opted for a root perm and cut. He helped explain why it's not the best option due to my hair being thick and long due to gravity and the effects are minimal. So I went with a digital perm and I don't regret it. He's very enjoyable to chat with and we had good laughs too. He went step by step with the entire perm process as it was my first in a long time. A few weeks ago, I had my hair colour touched up at another salon by a stylist that wasn't my regular as she was on leave indefinitely, but this new stylist they assigned me unfortunately ruined my blonde coloured hair. It became uneven, and was all sorts of different shades of brown, orange, grey, etc. I wanted to cry after the appointment because my hair was ruined.

I came to see El and she rescued my hair colour and brought it back to what it's supposed to look like, and honestly made it all the more better too! El is an absolute master of her craft and knows exactly what to do with hair colour and haircut styles to suit each client. I am so impressed with her professionalism and expert knowledge.
