Read moreThe Duotian Fish Soup Noodles Restaurant is located by many other stores and restaurants and is very convenient for shopping. Me and my family go and eat in this restaurant on many Saturdays nights. I have some positive ideas to share, as well as what can be improved and 2 recommendations. Positive + +1+ Fast the food came out in a fast manner, most in like about 5 minutes, including noodle soups and mixed rice dishes +2+ Variety appreciated how there are a variety of foods and drinks to choose from, from noodle soups, sandwiches to fried rice, and milk tea to bubble tea +3+ Late night options starting at 8:00 pm, there are smaller sized foods like spaghetti with meat sauce and an egg and tuna rolls with fries at a lower cost +4+ Taste the food we tried tasted great. We haven't tried the bubble teas yet, but I would assume those would taste great too Improve on - -1- The floor for the most part, the floor is clean, but not so much by the bathrooms, and the mens bathroom has its floor wet many times. It would be nice if a staff could mop the floor dry. As well, when I peeked through the kitchen floor, the floor is in need of some sweeping. Food scraps and liquid can be seen on the floor of the kitchen -2- The service sometimes the waitresses would say things across the restaurant, making it a little less enjoyable to be in. Would like for them to be mindful of the customers and to speak closer -3- Music the type of music played is fine, but we find the music a little bit loud. Would prefer if they could tone it down a little -4- Food safety this may be the biggest concern; for the most part, we left the restaurant full and no issues regarding any illness. However, we ordered spaghetti with chicken one evening and I believe the chicken was not well cooked. My sister and I both ate the chicken and we got a little sick. The wording "cooked in a timely manner" does not mean food that comes out as fast as the chefs can cook, but on the right temperatures and all sides of the food cooked thoroughly without taking too long Recommendations * 1 Discount for re-usable items it would be great if the restaurant encourages customers to bring their re-usable straws and mugs for their drinks, and their re-usable containers to take out left over foods and giving them a discount for doing so. I bring in a re-usable straw for my drinks and re-usable containers for food and would like to see others doing so as well, just so to reduce the number of single use plastics and foam toward our landfills. 2 "How to wash hands" poster would appreciate if there was a sign from the Vancouver Coastal Health on how to clean your hands, posted by the sink in the bathroom Overall, our experience of going to the Duotian Fish Soup Noodles Restaurant is not the best, but not the worst either. I would continue to go but order small dishes to have instead. And if I were to recommend this establishment? I would say give it a try by starting small and continue if you enjoy...
When we entered the place we tool our seats on the table was a marker and menus. My little sister held the marker while my we looked through the menu. When we were ready to order we waved at the waitress she ignored us 3 times until she came over. And she was rushing very fast like it wS her last day on earth,She was yelling at my sister telling her to give her the marker. She was not speaking clearly so my sister didn't understand because she was speaking very fast ,so the waitress yanked the marker out if her hand and started writing on the menu. After this incident i looked in the back kitchen. What did i see? A gray tub with MEAT they were serving people on the floor and noodle's everywhere on the floor in the kitchen. It was very unsanitary and unsettling because i was scared they would serve me that disgusting meat. When the waiter asked if we wanted any drinks we asked if it came with our meal sets and she said yes so we orders a passion fruit smoothie and a lemon ice tea. The passion fruit drink had little to no flavour and lemon tea tasted like chemicals. We asked our waiter to add an order of pepper fried squid to our dish, our one of our main dished came out and was EXTREMELY salty and had 20 small strips of meat for a whole plate of fried noodles. not to mention our 2nd order took half an hour to come out when 6 people where in the store and we orderd second before them. All their food came out before ours wich was frustrating because they ordered twice as much food. The second order was alright but had hardly and sauce and was flavour less. The only reason food has two stars is because of the texture of the ribye it was tender because they use baking soda and marinate it in that and the marinade. We were still waiting for our squid but we asked for the waiter about it when we got out bill and she said a order of fried squid was never ordered by our table! Like she wasnt even listening to us when we said it clearly and slowly and reputedly said it. When we looked at the receipt they ended up charing us 2 dollars extra for the slush and 1.50 for the lemon tea?! They clearly said it was included in our meal and preceded to charge us?? Honestly never comeing back i would rather go to the overpriced fuku...
Read moreOne of the worst restaurants in Vancouver. Sad to write this review but other needs to be warned before choosing to eat here. My family and I have been eating here for years and we had never really experienced any major issues. Here and there they would have bad service, incorrect orders but it was looked passed.
We dined in tonight and it was a completely negative experience. Honestly I would never write a negative review unless it was really bad and others should be warned of it. Upon entering the restaurant, we were not greeted even though it was not that busy late night. We waited at the front for a few minutes then noticed by a server that was just chatting at the front. No menus, no tea until we asked the server and also not to mention the restaurant was quite dirty tonight. Again, no one came by to take our order until we waved a server down and not surprised but the food came out really slow (and cold tonight). We mentioned our complaints but no one really cared. We just wanted to finish our meal and leave. When we were paying for the bill, we decided not to leave a tip due to the bad experience and service. This has honestly been my first time not leaving a tip for anyone even for takeout or fast services I would normally even tip and I would be happy to do so. The server had the audacity to make accusations towards us that my mom and I never tip. That was very insulting because every other single time we have been there we have had left a tip, even for take out. If she had wanted to see, I have all the debit and credit receipts that show that. Not only was the comment towards me, but also targeted towards my mom as well which I believe that was unnecessary. Sad to say that we will never visit this restaurant again and hopefully these servers can educate themselves.
I hope no one else would have a similar experience but sad to say that I have seen some other reviews with the same experience. There are better restaurants in the area, don’t waste your time and money...
